Firstly because it will take up most of the traditional Christmas bullshit season so we'll all be talking about football and not festivities. Secondly just for the novelty factor. And thirdly because we can see whether or not our well worn excuse about our players being tired stands up to scrutiny.

quarters was always the target, I honestly think that if we beat the French we make the final though.

First 30 or so minutes was poor, but then we turned it on, Bellingham, Foden and Kane's movement was excellent, once the third went in, it dropped in quality again, but the game was done and France enters the mind.

Dunno if we'll play a back 5 v France, but there was moments 1st half that France will be liking, but with our attack, their defence should be worried too.

Job done.

Keane made a good point there - it didn't take too much out of us.

We don't want to be undercooked but in tournament football I think it's important not to put yourself through the mill if it can be avoided.

France will be a huge step up. No mistake about it.

Nah. I did see it but he had time enough to give the keeper the eyes and send him the wrong way.

Kane was facing a ball that was still bouncing a little. He has amazing technique when it comes to hitting a shot.

No, we’re the team to beat. Great squad, real quality. Tonight didn’t even use such as Sterling, Maddison, Trippier, Trent. We can win this.

I think the main problem for us is the same as the last couple of tournaments - we don't have a midfield pivot capable of retaining posession and dictating the play when under the cosh. A Modric, Busquets, type figure.
