Marc505 Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Almost every home game I'm at these days I see what I think are multiple foul throws going unpunished. Today against Millwall was one of the worst ever for it. Do I need to re-read the rules sometime soon or are others noticing this too? Some players are chucking the ball from tit height! Quote
gonzo Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 Constant bugbear of mine over the years. I've never seen one pulled up yet. Quote
kent_white Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 The one that gets me is when defenders are allowed to 'shepherd' the ball for a corner. Absolutely anywhere else on the pitch that is obstruction. Quote

Whizz Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 There left back took one on the pitch today, a good couple of seconds on the pitch. Shepherding??? Obstruction all day long for me. Quote
kent_white Posted March 14, 2015 Posted March 14, 2015 As long as the ball is within playing distance it's allowed. It's not been within playing distance since we banned tackles from behind - unless you've got 10 foot legs. Quote

Moderators Carlos Posted March 14, 2015 Moderators Posted March 14, 2015 I gave up shouting "foul throw" as there was only me doing it and I thought I was possibly imagining it. But the bloke was chucking it with one arm. Quote
jayjayoghani Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 The one that gets me is when defenders are allowed to 'shepherd' the ball for a corner. Aye. Get in the mixer for them to defend! Quote

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 15, 2015 Site Supporter Posted March 15, 2015 Some more today. One of the spuds players just drops it whilst standing on one leg Quote
bgoefc Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 A pointless outdated rule. Another one that one that only British worried about. Diving is another. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted March 15, 2015 Moderators Posted March 15, 2015 So where do YOU draw the line Somebody chucking it 50 yards goalkeeper style? Quote
Site Supporter MickyD Posted March 15, 2015 Site Supporter Posted March 15, 2015 They were contemplating kicking it in not that long ago. Think it may even have been trialed in lower leagues. So maybe chucking it in goal keeper style isn't that far fetched. Quote
Moderators Casino Posted March 15, 2015 Moderators Posted March 15, 2015 In most countries it'd probably work Here we'd just get 60 yard punts into the mixer Quote
Site Supporter MickyD Posted March 15, 2015 Site Supporter Posted March 15, 2015 It'd make Reading think twice about kicking uncontested drop balls out of touch for a throw. Quote
Members DazBob Posted March 15, 2015 Members Posted March 15, 2015 Fuck that, it's bad enough watching players 'shepherd' the ball out for corners. They'd be doing it for throw-ins. Quote
