For where Everton are at, at this current time, they are better off with Ashley Williams at the back with £35 million in the bank than John Stones tying himself in knots in front of the Gladys street end getting pelters off the crowd.

just read £12M and he's only on a 2 year contract, no which will no doubt be a tidy sum per week in wages

could prove to be a very expensive signing, especially if he gets injured long term

£12 million is nothing for a club and country captain bang in form like he is.

I'd be well chuffed if we signed him in their position. He's a warrior.

Agreed, one of the best centre backs in the league for me and probably has 2 or 3 seasons left in him. Arsenal should have snapped him up and just accepted they wouldn't be able to recover any of the £12m in 2 or 3 years time.

aye, don't get me wrong, but you'd want him playing every week, or a guarantee he will, or just pay him when he does

his track record suggests he stays fit only missing a handful of games a season

or maybe we've been out the PL that long £12M doesn't yet seem like a snip to me

then again. he's got way more than 6 times experience than Holding

but would still have expected a 3 or 4 year contract

It goes without saying that I sincerely hope Pogba snaps his ACL during his first game and is out for the season.

£47.5M  -  blimey, that's not a bad bit of business, especially for Barnsley who apparently have a 15%~20% sell on clause

City have previous of paying way over the odds for vastly overrated Everton centre halves.

You think they'd learn their lesson..

The more this stupid money gets thrown around the more I hate what the premier league has become over hyped over rated players with no sense of reality I hope it all goes pop the sooner the better. Doubt I'll watch match of day all season or any premier league matches live. I'm just not interested it's not what football should be about.

£25 million now, is the £12 million from 3 years ago.

You get good prem players for £25 - £30 million now, no worldies, its madness.

Still 2/3rds too much spunking all that stones cash on them two ...... Ouch

Meh, swings and round-a-bouts, we are not skint and we need some proven prem players in now.

Gueye, Williams and Bolasie for the Stones cash is good business and improves the team, With more players to come.
