onlyoneawalker Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 If it weren't for pratley I'd be ok with him going but Parky does seem to have him running around abit more. I still have no idea what he offers the side either Quote
Sweep Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 He's gone backwards in the last couple of seasons, if we can get a bit of cash for him now, then I'm quite happy to let him go. I'm still not sure what his best position actually is Quote
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted August 15, 2016 Site Supporter Posted August 15, 2016 Vela has been a bit unfortunate in that I don't think Lennon ever trusted fully to play midfield. He's still only a kid who ought to improve - an extended run in has favoured position with a manager who believes in him and he might be a decent player especially if we as a team are doing ok too. Â That said, if someone were to offer us enough money for PP to think he could make better use of it elsewhere, then off he pops Quote
famouswanderer Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 The only thing that makes me think he needs to stay is the Pratley injury. We would need a replacement Quote
Matt Lofthouse Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Im told 250k plus CraviesThrow in jussi, they can also have Amos and it's a deal. Quote

bolton va va Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 According to Marc Iles (I know) we've turned down offers for Vela, Dervite, Woolery & Spearing.  I'm happy to keep all of them, with Spearing being especially influential so far this season, but I don't know what it says about our financial position....... from losing £1m a month last season, we can't be breaking even yet, can we ? Quote
Site Supporter HomerJay Posted August 20, 2016 Site Supporter Posted August 20, 2016 we can not lose spearing Quote
BWFC_LOVE Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Aye. Spearing is key to our potential success in this division. Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Iles report seemed to suggest no pressure to sell or loan out but if we did have to take money for any of those it'd be Service for sure but none of the other three. Â If he's not going to be injured beyond the close of the window I'd cash in on Clough. Â Keeping Spearing a must, can be the cornerstone of a promotion bid for us. Think PP's already worked that out Quote

radcliffe white Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Would rather lose clough than spearing, vela or Woolery Quote

RoadRunnerFan Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Apparently Wenger has tonight sarcastically apologised to press for Rob Holding not costing £55m.  Glad your sorry Arsene, not as sorry as Parky, Sweaty Ken, Uncle Eddie and BWFC supporters are though. Quote
Site Supporter HomerJay Posted August 21, 2016 Site Supporter Posted August 21, 2016 Arsene is right. The media and the public are far too obsessed with judging a player by his transfer value, rather than his actual ability. Â That said, I am gonna be pissed if holding plays the season as first choice at a top 4 club and all we see is a couple of million plus the same in add ons. Â Hopefully, if arsenal win the league, we get another 500 billion! Quote
Sweep Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Arsene is right. The media and the public are far too obsessed with judging a player by his transfer value, rather than his actual ability.  Whilst that's true, I also wonder why he doesn't just go out and buy a proven, experienced CB. He's needed one of those for ages. I'm not sure he's going to be winning the league this season if he has to play Holding every week  We do of course want Holding to play every week, so that we can maximise any add-ons that we have Quote
Moderators Carlos Posted August 21, 2016 Moderators Posted August 21, 2016 Arsenal got battered 0-0 judging from the highlights. We won't be collecting any trophy bonuses anytime soon. Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Arsenal got battered 0-0 judging from the highlights. We won't be collecting any trophy bonuses anytime soon. Â Hopefully Arsenal sell him to a top 4 club for 50 million and we have a clause for 25%. Quote
