June 16, 201510 yr Need to get my lad some equipment (10 years old). Where's the best place to go- don't want to spend a fortune, but want him adequately protected. Cheers
June 16, 201510 yr Get him everything but a bat from Mike Ashley's gaff. Get a bat from Cricket World which is at the Valley.
June 16, 201510 yr How tall is he? What size bat? I've got a pantry full of bats and some other decent kids gear. He can have any used bats for free (good uns but might be too big) also got a couple of adidas for sale at £25 size 5 (rrp £70)
June 17, 201510 yr Author Thanks fellas. Was hoping to avoid Ashley's lot, he's a cunt, but if that's the way to go then so be it. He's 143 cm tall about 4 feet seven. The club have given him an old bat, so there's no urgency in that department. Really needs gloves, pads etc. If you've got stuff for sale Whitewhizz then let us know, we'd be interested. He's also got an oldish adidas incurza bat that needs a new rubber, but it seems too big, unsure what size, it says H on end of handle
June 17, 201510 yr Probably between a size 4 and 5 so better to get him a 5 whilst he's growing. H for Harrow is 2 sizes up from a 5. 1 size from adults. I will try and have a proper look tonight what I have that's suitable. It is important that they have the right size. Keep telling my 6 year old to use his size 3 but the clean and new size 4 adidas keeps making its way to games rather than the old worn kookaburra.

June 17, 201510 yr We can help him put a new rubber on the bat handle ....and open a bottle of wine with a shoe.
June 17, 201510 yr Ok, you can have the new adidas bat for £25 and a choice of two bags (used but decent condition) for free. There was some slazenger pads and gloves you could of had for nowt but the youngest wants to keep the pads as his will be too small very soon and I can only find one glove. What club has he joined?

June 18, 201510 yr Hope the bats ok and serves the young un well. Decathlon isn't bad for other equipment such as pads, gloves and whites.
June 19, 201510 yr Author Thanks very much, he's chuffed with it. Went showing his mates when he got home. He's going to have a practice at the end of the road after school.
