leebwfc Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 The scoreboard and the perimiter advertising hoardings were bought and paid for by the development association ( Lifeline/Goldline/Golden Gamble) not by the club. The Developmant association is a registerd charity and the money raised is ringfenced and can only be spent on projects like this ( and some of the training ground and academy stuff) by the trustees. Thanks Gonk, didn;t know that Quote
whiteboy Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Copping out then. The fact is, nobody gave a FUCK about the clubs finances. It's only since Eddie stopped chucking money at it that certain folk have been throwing tantrums. And Anewman only ever complained about managers. Can't recall him ever predicting a financial apocalypse. That is a fucking nonsense....the finances have always discussed on these sites - we nearly went into admin in 98/99 didn't we? Concerns about the rising debt/directors wages post the glory years were usually dismissed - 'not real debt', 'relegation clauses', 'fans of the club', ETC Quote

Love to see some evidence proving me wrong though. Quote

I suspect that our chairman telling us that we budgeted to finish 17th and actually finished 6th assured us that we were doing ok at that particular time. That period was not the problem Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Don't remember anyone complaining when we had Okocha playin in Europe. Love to see some evidence proving me wrong though. He said post glory years. I really wish you'd learn to read properly. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 The rising debt isn't the problem. Presumably Ed was always prepared to chuck a certain amount at the club and not expect it back ( though maybe hoped) The inflated wage bill, poor contracts etc are the problem. I'm not sure why the tax bill hasn't been paid but would imagine much will be revealed in the fullness of time. Quote

Sweep Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Anewman only ever complained about managers. Can't recall him ever predicting a financial apocalypse. He did, said Administration was the plan all along Anewman was right! Quote
gonzo Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Fuck me I've just skimmed over some threads from 2007 in the trophy room and the knives were out then. Folk wanted ED and PG out for appointing Gary Megson. Think the club was in profit then haha If only they knew Quote
white noise Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 So Mixon reckons that the deal has not been ratified and that DH and ED can't agree on the debt being left with the club. Unless this is done and ratified before Monday's hearing, it could be curtains! Quote
enzo gambaro Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 There were 91 other clubs that didn't sign Stuart Holden too.Aye. Point is that just being a manager or a scout doesn't automatically make you Yoda. Sometimes they get it right, plenty more times they get it wrong, and no fucking way do they all nod sagely in agreement when someone makes a signing. There are more Marvin Sordells than Stuart Holdens. Quote

Unless this is done and ratified before Monday's hearing, it could be curtains! Indeed it could be, but the court listing again has BWFC in a long list of cases expected to be dealt with rapidly. Last time we had a full hour allocated and a football case specialist in charge. So I'm hoping we get a final 2 week adjournment and then appear again in front of Deputy Registrar Garwood (who is from Hull btw). Quote

Gonk Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Training ground you say? What happens to that project now it's been sold then? As I don't know what the terms of the sale was, and what was paid for by the development association up there in the first place, I couldn't possibly say. It might have been portable gym equipment or technology that is being relocated to Lostock, it could have been building works, it could have been a mixture of both. Quote

DaveTheRave Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I'm clinging on to the hope that ED will step in and pay it. He better had do or we're fucked. Never really thought we'd get shut down completely. But I'm starting to get worried. Quote
darrener Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 It's nearly done stop worrying all be sorted before we go to court. Quote
waffer cup 07 Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 If that happens maybe a few on here will change their mind about ED. Quote
gonzo Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 If that happens maybe a few on here will change their mind about ED. Why does everything always have to be so polarised? Is it not possible to be thankful of all the good things ED has bought and all his investment as well thoroughly pissed off with him at the way he's let all this happen?? Quote
