jules_darby
Possibly or maybe with the arrival of Birch and the step up in gossip and reports in the national media the club felt it was time to set a few things straightThat's how I read it By Xmas would be a result
ex_midlandwhite
I think the announcement shows we are miles away from a new owner. If it was nearly a done deal, there would be no need to make the statement. Sadly that's the way I see it to. It's akin to sticking a bigger, shinier For Sale sign up through a different estate agent
Take Hunt Off
Fantastic gesture from Eddie Davies even though we are far from out of the woods regarding week to week losses . Significant or course but not season saving we need the new owners to show the same level of commitment that Davies has shown & finance us through this season hopefully saving us from the drop , obviously postponing the inevitable financial re-jigging of the club. I think Trevot Birch doing his job, trying to drum up more potential suitors and secondly trying to get an auction going to drive up the price for Davies. Site Supporter HomerJay Posted November 23, 2015 Site Supporter Share Posted November 23, 2015 i think most of us already knew the debt was nonsense and ED was going to write it off, but this statement brings great clarity to situation. ED, we are forever in your debt. thank you.
Plums
Why on earth would the potential buyers be otherwise interested? They want to make money

Moderators Casino Posted November 23, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 23, 2015 TB: Since he bought the club he has invested a significant amount of money. In the summer, the interest and some other amounts that were owed to Eddie were waived. The loans can now be written-off or gifted to club under the terms of any sale. I have to say, I’ve heard people talk of the money Eddie has taken from the club in return for his investment, but even taking into account interest received on his loans in the early years Eddie’s net ‘loss’ is approaching £175million. A magnificent commitment as far as I’m concerned. and me i got a bit emotional reading that the question now is this what level of club can the town of bolton support at the moment it looks like we're too small for this league

birch-chorley
Gutted - I was expecting some new news regarding the war chest Think this just confirms what most sensible folk already knew?? Hopefully the hysterical amongst us and tin foil hat brigade will now pull themselves together and stop going on about PG & ED being corrupt We just need to find the next person / persons who will put £175m of their own cash in now So it's as we were then
Site Supporter HomerJay Posted November 23, 2015 Site Supporter Share Posted November 23, 2015 surely hotel income cant count towards club finances and the fair play rule thing? otherwise bolt on a successful business and buy whoever the fuck you like and pay them what ever the fuck you like? im not totally up to speed with the fair rules though the be fair... Moderators Casino Posted November 23, 2015 Moderators Share Posted November 23, 2015 Then it wouldn't be an issue if it's neutral turnover gives us an idea of how much we can afford to spend leaving the hotel in there is misleading as everything that comes in from it, goes out so if we're having it as a positive against say charlton, its also a negative to the same amount you have to discount the hotel, unless we can sell the bloody thing
