Underpants Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 Not that i know a lot on this shit. But I've got to feel sorry for SL. Players not as good as they thought, and told they were. A Football knee-jerk reaction to failure means he goes rather than the players having a look at themselves. If overseas players were picked and the best available English based players were selected (that means no Burgess in the squad) we still would not have won the thing. Quote

Members bolty58 Posted November 12, 2015 Members Posted November 12, 2015 A big mistake IMO. Lancaster is an honourable man and should have been given longer. Sir Clive ballsed up the 1999 World Cup campaign and his second chance resulted in that unforgettable night in Sydney. The Kiwi's have done the same thing in the past and had coaches who have won it at the second attempt. I believe this will be a decision which will be regretted. Quote
Underpants Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 was armitage not picked cos of lancaster or the rfu? My understanding was the RFU. But Lancaster did have a major interest in grass roots upwards. So maybe a willing companion? We'll probably find out over the next few days what Lancasters thoughts were on this. Quote
