MalcolmW Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 It's good to see that, despite having a heavy workload as PM, David Cameron has found time to represent his constituents by writing to Oxfordshire County Council to complain about the service cuts after his government has reduced their funding by 36%. That's a bit like Heinrich Himmler complaining about the air quality over Auschwitz Quote
Farrelli Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Teflon Cameron, never his fault. It'll be the Lib Dems to blame probably. Quote
Moderators Carlos Posted November 12, 2015 Moderators Posted November 12, 2015 Is it his fault if the council are spunking all their money on holidays for tearaway kids and bone idle staff or overpaid execs? Quote

A big if! Anyway they won't have tearaway kids in his constituency Quote
Sweep Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 I don't know what the problem is. As the MP for that constituency, he's only doing his job in responding to what his constituents want - if he agrees with it or not is irrelevant, it's his job Anyway, their money has been cut....so has everybody elses, they just need to get on with it.......or should we just give all County Councils as much money as they want? Moderators Carlos Posted November 12, 2015 Moderators Posted November 12, 2015 A big if! Anyway they won't have tearaway kids in his constituency So, are Bolton's problems all of DC's creation or are they not a total and utter fucking mess irrespective? Quote

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 12, 2015 Site Supporter Posted November 12, 2015 So, are Bolton's problems all of DC's creation or are they not a total and utter fucking mess irrespective? Think we all know the answer to that. Witnessed inefficiencies my self and always said they could do as much with less. Thirty odd percent cut is still going to hurt any organisation though, and in itself is no guarantee of improved efficiencies. Indeed they may become an excuse for them. Quote
Sweep Posted November 12, 2015 Posted November 12, 2015 Going back to Oxford County Council, weren't they told to flog some property that they had a surplus of as well, which would more than make up for cuts they have received? - Don't know how true this is, just heard some dullard on the radio wittering on about it I'm not sure what a property "surplus" is in County Council terms - presumably buildings that aren't being used, or are being grossly underused Quote

Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted November 13, 2015 Site Supporter Posted November 13, 2015 Sean Harris, listened to his opening address upon his appointment. Tedious and completely non-inspirational. Don't know what this last chap was like, but they ought to get someone decent for that salary though Quote

So the market hall/place was sold due to thatchers policies? Never knew that. I'm guessing that then led indirectly to the monstrosity the market hall became when they changed it then? Quote
