That's why they're so OTT. He's not lost the art of fleecing people from their money, I'll give him that (think Trump University, Trump Steaks etc etc etc ). They actively move the shift away from centrism to the individual which helps them (the self defined sovereign individual), but actually most damanges their base, and yet the base still support it because it plays into the resentment those in power control.
