Mounts Kipper Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Don't think 190+ apparenaces was pitfull to be honest. He was alright was deano. Not the glamour signing it was meant to be admittedly. Decent player for us plenty of bottle we could do with 1 like him now. Quote
Arrested development Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 Burnley are a great example of playing to your strengths. If we adopted the same tactical philosophy as them, get it wide, get in the box early, get midfielders suppirting, I think we'd be higher up the league. Irs getting to the point where we need wins. Playing one up top and packing the midfield isn't winning us games. At some point soon we need to adopt a more attacking approach. Quote

We got the ball into the box a lot more than Burnley did yesterday. If we had a striker like they have we'd be mid table. Quote

Aye Grey in for Heskey/Madine yesterday we'd have tatered em. Heskey will always give you his all but nowadays his all isn't all that much. and madine is bog average and always has been. Quote

He didn't score the goals to keep us up first time round but he more than did his bit to get us back up and stay up so aye far from pitiful Quote
desert Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) About 4 times in the first half gonzo, his overall play is good and as I said before the critique, I like the lad, but just has this habit of wandering offside, saying that, he was our best player I just annoyed me as he was in some good positions on those occaisions According to the bbc he was offside twice in the whole game Edited February 29, 2016 by desert Quote
superkev Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Live with it lads, first half he was caught offside time and again. Yes he was MOM, still was caught offside again and again and he should know better So was Andre Gray and he won the game for them. It happens Quote
Rizlar Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Good performance but we lost pure and simple ! We are going down that's a fact looking forward to next season new manager new team COYWM. Quote
birch-chorley Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 So was Andre Gray and he won the game for them. It happens Same story at turf moor If we had of managed to sign a Hooper or ALF, I think we'd have been fine Shame really Quote
marple whites Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 This game just shows the difference between top and bottom and s big money striker. We were superb for our position and they were decidedly average. Yet 2 moments from a good player have changed the game. As pointed out, a half decent striker for us would have made the difference this year (eg Alf) and that short sightedness of not putting a few extra quid out there will cost us Championship status. What been proven all year is that the overall quality in the division is at best average. But mistakes week in, week out have cost us. Looking at the division 1 table on the way home, shows a lot of local trips. Every cloud..................... Quote

Moderators Horwich Posted February 29, 2016 Moderators Posted February 29, 2016 Man for man there wouldnt be many of out players in their starting 11 Quote
Moderators Horwich Posted February 29, 2016 Moderators Posted February 29, 2016 Infact, looking at their line up, none of our players would get in the burnley team. Id even take kightly off their bench and stick him in our team Quote
passmosster Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Is it just me who thought that Burnley except for Gray weren't much cop? Don't think that they'd stay in the Premiership unless they spent big. Quote
Moderators Horwich Posted February 29, 2016 Moderators Posted February 29, 2016 We have conceeded more than twice as many as burnley. Gray must be a good defender too Quote
Morizio Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 We played well and battled against them, they had an off day but still won. They are better than us this season. They won't be going up because they are shit. Quote

There are a number of Lennon loan deals that will be on a few bob - think he just backed the wrong ones Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I'd bet their wage bill less than ours we really do need to start again with a manager who knows what to pay players. Quote
MalcolmW Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 I'd bet their wage bill less than ours we really do need to start again with a manager who knows what to pay players. Wasn't their strict 15k pw wage limit when they got to the Premier League a major reason why OC jumped ship? Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Well if it was they were right to stick to it in more ways than one! Quote

Id even take kightly off their bench and stick him in our team well no, we're going down and they may well go up, says a lot if the roles were reversed and, for example, grey had scored 4 this season with them in the bottom 3, he wouldn't be getting in a side in the top 2 Clough would get in though, obvs Quote

No doubt they inserted clauses to reduce salary in the event of relegation why we didn't must be the biggest dropped bollock of all time shockingly poor management and that is now catching up with us. And that's why they couldn't attract players good enough to keep them up. A disappointing lack of ambition! Quote

Id say the biggest bollock drop was to continue offering contracts to players, when we knew we wouldnt have any parachute payment to cover it We might be in the conference and still paying amos £16k a week or whatever he is on.
