madthatter Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-36160621 Why does stuff like this really piss me off? "I didn't think about supporting my own city because we wanted to watch the bigger players and it was all about winning matches." Suppose it's to be expected and I have nothing against Leicester - been the best Prem in years. Quote
heywoodwhite Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 And when they get relegated they will suddenly become Liverpool and Chelsea fans again. Wankers Quote
Mounts Kipper Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-36160621 Why does stuff like this really piss me off? "I didn't think about supporting my own city because we wanted to watch the bigger players and it was all about winning matches." madthatter Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 Aye, it's the complete lack of irony in the article that gets me, as if what their doing is something to be proud of! Quote
SatanGreavsie Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Living 15 miles away it's been interesting to note that most genuine fans have been quite quiet about it. Even earwigging conversations in queues it's been clear they were taking nowt for granted - until the last week or two anyway. I pity me poor owd neighbour who had a ST for decades then him and his missus fucked off to a retirement pad other end of the country and rented their gaff out. Little did he know it was a bad time to miss their games! Mind you, BBC's East Midlands Today didn't let me down - as I predicted they would, they recently ran a thing putting it all down to Richard III. Quote
Adlington Trotter Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Had to stop reading that after the first few paragraphs. What a prick. Used to work with a bloke who supported both Leicester and Arsenal. Can't get my head around people like that. Quote
Spider Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 So To be clear We are unanimous that supporting 2 professional teams means you're a bit of a wanker? Quote
DirtySanchez Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Went to the midweek game we lost 3-2 there under freedman Despite the fact they were winning there was no atmosphere whatsoever Now pundits are falling over themselves to say what brilliant fans they are because they make a bit of noise with those clapper things they hand out Quote
Andydee Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Who's the bigger wanker one who supports 2 teams or one who switches to a team just because they're successful? Quote
madthatter Posted April 30, 2016 Author Posted April 30, 2016 So To be clear We are unanimous that supporting 2 professional teams means you're a bit of a wanker? Yes but with special compensation for Bury and Utd fans #halfandhalf Quote
ZiggyStardust Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Lee pickering sounds like a legend. Ronnies lad. Quote
DirtySanchez Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 I thought I was reading the daily mash at first when talking about Ash Patel Then there was the story about a fan who missed out on 100 grand as he 'forgot' to put his usual bet on them winning the league at the start of the season Fuck off. You could have done it a week later if you're that precious about it and the odds wouldn't have changed Quote
Zico Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Ash Patel is 40 and was a life long Liverpool fan but switched to Leicester when they got promoted to the PL Ok But they've been promoted to the PL 3 times They should show that article to the members who've been going all their lives buy can't get tickets Quote
RoadRunnerFan Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-leicestershire-36160621 Why does stuff like this really piss me off? "I didn't think about supporting my own city because we wanted to watch the bigger players and it was all about winning matches." Suppose it's to be expected and I have nothing against Leicester - been the best Prem in years. Because this attitude has deprived BWFC of thousands of fans and millions of pounds, perfectly understandable in my view. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 "Nicola Butler took her dad Mike, who usually supports Liverpool and Coventry City, to the game against Swansea and says she has become hooked" You'd be fucking fuming if you were one of the members who missed out on tickets. Though stories like the above may suggest they weren't quite as difficult to come by as had been previously speculated. Quote
famouswanderer Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Who's the bigger wanker one who supports 2 teams or one who switches to a team just because they're successful? Thats like trying to choose between a nonce and a terrorist Quote

All clubs have good atmosphere when things going well. Quote
mickbrown Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 Arseholes one and all. Still the proper fans will feel it way more than these muppets. Quote
HR Posted April 30, 2016 Posted April 30, 2016 It happens more than most fans are willing to admit. Our crowds suffered when Wigan got to the Prem, there are loads of 'transient' fans at clubs everywhere. The idea that we are all hardcore is a myth, we have lost more than 10,000 fans in 5 years, they aren't all listening to GMR or shopping, many will be watching other teams. Cunts to a mon. Quote
