Indeed, I can't remember who suggested it (NiC maybe?)  -  anyway, it has deviated away from the books, quite early on, but it is excellent. I did all the first series last week, and am now 3 episodes into the second

I did all 5 series in about 2 to 3 weeks, finished it off on Sunday night, really enjoyed it...

Look out for the film leter this year I believe. Its a standalone effort as Uhtred (Son of Uhtred) story has finished.

Just the right mix of good story, proper history, tits, fighting and a bit of cheese thown in for good measure
