ErnestTurnip
Thought the Johnny Football thing was ok, that full series it's part of on Netflix is ok, theres one about a not bent basketball ref that is worth a watch. Wheel Of Time series 2 is on Prime atm and it's taken me 4 episodes to remember who the fuck anyone is, these big budget series woth 2 year gaps are klilers for folk whose memories are shite. I used to look forward to his games when he led Texas A&M. Could have been anything this lad - freakish ability at his top.

Bit more background into the story. Blimey!! 1/3rd of his followers were British. Did a great grooming tour round the UK

Still can't get my head round how big the crowds are for college football Was having a look and A&M expanded around the time Manziel was playing from 82k to 102k!! Teams like the bears and redskins average under 60k

You’ll get local fans of college football who support an NFL team on the other side of the country. Pretty sure @bolty58 mentioned this a while back,

Anyway, it's a shit sport. Edited September 17 by DazBob

The waiting list for season tickets at Camp Randall was beyond 10 years the last time I saw them play live. The capacity is up around 80K and it's a sellout every time. Mind you, the 10 years is chicken shit compared to Packer season tickets. They only really change hands when they are left to folk in wills. How very un-PC of you to use an offensive label for a NFL franchise. Tsk Edited September 19 by bolty58

Happy to be corrected. My understanding was college teams are much more localised and they also can't just be picked up and moved like the LA Raiders were (and MK Dons). Oh, and I fully understand the rules/laws of the game. You get four plays to advance 10 yards ... it's not complicated.
Traf
Watched Johnny Football last night. I knew I'd be irritated by it as Manziel is a wanker. An absolute waste of talent.

An absolute waste of talent. It's a constantly recurring theme mate. George Best, Stan Bowles, Johnny Football - the list must be miles long. Money, fame, adulation goes to some folks heads and they simply lose the plot. Never affected me mind

The game is far more complicated than you might imagine. Sam Spodofora's offensive playbook at the Bolton Braves was a mindfuck. Away games down south or in the north east 'sentenced' you to hours of pre game study on the offence's team coach. Meanwhile, on the defensive teams coach, we had porn movies on and lads were flashing there arses and more at passing motorists. Our playbook had around 10 plays so easy to memorise. They had around 150 different plays. The defence waited in anticipation for the captain's instruction "75 black!". Full blitz, all out attack and hit anything that moves. Most of the time absolute mayhem - I think we got caught out once by Glasgow Diamonds whose shrewd QB read our intent who sent his two WR's steaming down the pitch both running towards the goal posts. Early throw, no safeties, no fuck all. A stroll into the end zone. Other than this we inflicted some proper damage. Washington Presidents left Grundy Hill with a cracked sternum, a broken arm and a couple of concussions. There were many others. Only remember one injury to a Brave and that was a hammy. Smiley
Bali 2002. Fuck me, that was a grim watch. Glad I’d waited until my daughter had left the island before I watched it. Your Mum, My Dad on ITV. Like BB/LI but with 50-year-olds. Both Sharon and Natalie are worth a length… but not a relationship!

Smiley
Just watched Johnny Football. Really enjoyed it. Frustrating to see him waste his talent. But he had a great time other than that!!! Did wonder if he’d try and make a return - not sure at what level when you get to 29/30. Obviously no longer able to play college… what other options are there other than NFL?
