EFA

Moneyball in action. On average how many games does your 2nd keeper play per season? 1-5 at a guess, so why waste any of your budget on one? Instead we’ve got a GK coach, a role we’d have had to pay for anyway, who is still young enough and played recently enough to cover for those few games. Added bonus that he’s been working with our 1st team keeper.

He may even be 3rd choice if Evatt wants to keep Alexander around for cup games

Was just saying exactly the same, he’ll do all the graft get knocked left right and centre weigh in with 8-10 goals but Doyle will get 20+ in and around the pen spot without even breaking sweat because of Delfouneso’s graft

That’s exactly what O’Grady brings to a team at this level, but I accept ND is younger so it does make good sense. Impressive signing for 4th tier.

Starting to get a whiff of jobs for the boys?

I prefer to see it as trusted generals, especially as Evatt’s former team mates aren’t exactly making up a majority of the squad. Gilks having already worked with Crellin could be invaluable.

Unless another striker comes in, can't see faal going out on loan. We'll need more than 2.

He won’t start a league game. It will either be the 2 new strikers, or 1 up front, or Politic or some other established first teamer. He will either go out on loan to non league or get a permanent move in the next window.

When did we last have a proper pre-season, players all signed weeks beforehand and not a mad scramble at the last minute? 1st season down from prem?

I just said that to someone today.  Ready to go day 1 - that’s the first big improvement that hasn’t happened for ages.

Any more we reckon?  Another old head to hold it together in midfield?

Maybe, and possibly someone like Baptiste as cover in defence, maybe another striker too if Faal doesn't impress Evatt.

Baptiste was impressive at Atherton apparently, so could be another old head to add. Maybe Bunney too

Bunney can do one for me.

He didn’t impress when he played and he didn’t impress with his driving.
