They know we'll want him on the 31st just as much as we want him now, if not more so. The gamble they are taking is that we look elsewhere but given that Evatt has publicly declared interest in him, it's doubtful. The only other thing is risking him getting an injury and then losing him for free in Summer. If I was their owner I'd want to keep him around to give them a chance of closing the gap on safety.
