Do you lose that money then, or does the bet become void and you get your stake back?

I've absolutely no idea.

Lose it. Given season has started and bookies make the rules.

Suppose just like a horse falling in a race.

I’m not to sure JCH would come for wages we could offer. He needs to loan out big Dan and free up a space for another striker. Hopefully do well and we have option of bringing him back at Christmas. Need more quality up front. Just hoping Bod comes back strong and stays fit.

Big Dan's going nowhere. He'll prove a lot of folk wrong - like most Evatt signings do. Santos was the "worst player to ever wear a White shirt" after 5 games. As someone said over the weekend - our fanbase doesn't help. Expecting 4K while we're operating in an SD League.

So why have we been shit for the last three league games if everything is perfect in your eyes (and I include Fleetwood at home in that)

Last three? We beat Fleetwood 3-1, then lost against Wigan, and drew at Burton.... If you consider a 3-1 win as us being "shit" then you've lost the plot.

I've never claimed "everything is perfect", and never would. Sometimes you don't get what you want in sport because humans make mistakes, and your opponent is always trying to stop you. Surely you should understand that by now?

Fleetwood were the better side for large periods of the game; we were dog shit against Wigan and very poor at Burton. Not top two performances at all.

I understand we won’t blow everyone apart but you’re defending players who are just not doing it and that was the reason I sent the message. Hopefully Dan does come good but on the evidence so far he looks a waste of money ( and he isn’t the only one)

We beat Fleetwood 3-1. It doesn't matter if they were "the better side" in your opinion. And I'll always support a player in a Bolton shirt - rather than call them "shit" 5 games into a season. We clearly have different mindsets. Yours thrives when we lose, mine thrives when we win.

We both want the same thing but I don’t think you’re realistic. Players can play shit without calling them shit and Iredale was complete shit on Saturday after a promising start to the season

I'm absolutely realistic in that I don't expect us to win every game, and I understand that sometimes we'll have some absolute howlers like we did against Wigan. It's not the end of the world, and a couple of bad performances don't define a season - especially 5 games in. I agree Iredale was bobbins on Saturday and against Wigan, but he also played a few very decent balls, and he was superb in our first 3 games. We're in League 1. If every single pass he played was spot on and his positioning was consistently perfect, he wouldn't be here.

To get the conversation back on to the market (with the deadline at the end of the week) I still feel we are three players short of automatic promotion material in terms of the squad. That's not to say we'll be signing three players between now and then. I very much doubt we will.

I'd say we're a RWB short, I still feel like we are big CB short (this is the one we won't sign because we've got numbers) and we are a midfield hard-man short (be surprised if we got this one too!)

Great news that, I don’t think he’d extend if he was planning to leave and to be fair he probably does deserve a pay rise. It probably now means no move for JCH but that may just have been talk anyway but imagine if we did pair him with Dion if the board could scrape the money together, what a front pairing that would be?

Indeed, but the priority should be midfield and wing-back. JCH can be the tiara on the shire horse 😁

Good news about Dion.

However, if he keeps doing very well and someone offers big money, a new contract might not mean a great deal.

Seems to be happy though.

Also would mean we could command a bigger fee in the event Stoke were still keen. Win win.

Cheers to those explaining the Dan fee, I was certain he was out of contract. Jury's still out, but I'll back him to come good.
