Just a talking point, as I don't think he'll go, but I've no idea who would be suitable. I note that both Stevenage and Northampton have a player each with a decent goal record this season, and maybe that's the type we'd have to look at, but in general, I've no idea. My lad was looking at possible reinforcements in Jan rather than replacement and came up with Callum Marshall on loan from west ham. Quote
L/H White Posted December 24, 2023 Posted December 24, 2023 Clark-Harris from Peterborough Sure we were linked in the summer Quote

radcliffe white Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 Morley & his representatives have been after a better deal since May and it was that or he was off the club obviously believe he’s worth the investment👍 Quote
Members burnden Posted December 28, 2023 Members Posted December 28, 2023 Don't understand the length of the contract extension for Morley myself. Quote

They must indeed feel he's earned it, though I am a touched surprised at its length, given he's not currently a first choice on a regular basis. Perhaps it is a means of protecting ourselves- if we don't go up, we still have a decent player, if we do, and he doesn't manage the jump, we still have a saleable asset. Quote

The issue from Morley’s point was that GT, Sheehan & Dempsey all got offered better deals in the summer, there is a player in Morley Quote

frank_spencer Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 I like Morley good set piece taker and rarely makes a mistake. Never upset at seeing him in the side might not be as exciting as GT, Maghoma and Sheehan but exactly the kind of player a squad needs Quote

He also has the responsibility to bring it out consistently. Always has been and always will be situations like this; and not unique to football neither. It's now down to him to knuckle down and make himself invaluable. Quote
ianofcleveleys Posted December 28, 2023 Posted December 28, 2023 You would think that, regardless of whether he's currently a fixture in our side, there'd been whispers of interest from others who see him as just what they need. I hope he kicks on now, forces his way into the team and stays there regularly. I've always thought there was a really good player in him Quote
