You would think that, regardless of whether he's currently a fixture in our side, there'd been whispers of interest from others who see him as just what they need. I hope he kicks on now, forces his way into the team and stays there regularly. I've always thought there was a really good player in him

For me, I think it's the defensive aspect; and the work he does in that regard that has been the question.

We have Morley, Dempsey, Thomason & Sheehan who, whilst obviously different all offer a similar option. Plus, for me the best of them, on loan Maghoma.

We can cope at this level & not be afraid if we went up, with form, suspension, injury or opposition. Yet still we lack that proper hard-man footballer.

Shown nothing to justify that call. Can you elaborate on that opinion?

Hard man in football, a thing of the past.

Carty going to Donny on loan, decent level for him

Excellent, just up the road so I may go and watch him to see how he gets on. Good move for him that and may also give Donny the lift they need if he fits in well.

I’d second that Mounts, seen nothing from Paris yet other than showboating. Can’t shoot, doesn’t create, I’m not sure exactly what he does offer. Flatters to deceive I think?

Exactly where I am… perhaps it’s because he’s from a premier league team fans rate him so highly.

He's shown he has something a bit different, gets between the lines and can run at players.

Not a world beater by any means, but none of them are.

I wouldn't say he's the best of the lot, but he offers options and has grabbed a few goals.

He looks a cracking player Jacket but just nothing seems to come from it. I’m sure he’s got it in him but it’s not come out yet for me and I fear he may just be one of those who promise more than they deliver but let’s hope not, he’s got time to impress yet.

For someone who can’t shoot, he’s not bad at scoring.

His ability to turn on a sixpence and find room is excellent - similar to Sheehan.

He’s also the only player that is willing to run at their defence. He’s shown it on more than one occasion e.g. Portsmouth.

He'll be moaning about Baxter's lack of goals next

He's been quite regular during our good run.

Same team as Vic, and Williams.

It's a miracle we're so high given they are poor players.

And theyre not the only ones....

If only Evatt signed good players, theyd have just moved us straight to division 2 in november

1 nearly every 3 games isn’t top class, one of those was a virtual back pass that keeper made a hash of and one other was Solihull moors. He’s supposed to be a line breaker creator and score goals, he’s shown nowhere near enough yet, let’s hope he improves and contributes more in the second half of the season.

I don't think our progressive play helps him. He must get pissed off showing for the ball and it going backwards or sideways instead.

To me hes a breath of fresh air and something different.

Think back to Barnsley away in play offs. Absolutely crying out for someone like him to unlock something.

Surprised but pleased at the Morley contract since he has been a bit overlooked this season.

Anyway, more interested to see what we do in terms of actual transfers. Could do with someone who can give Josh Dacres-Cogley a bit more competition. If he gets injured we're very light there, especially with Gethin going away for a time.

Other than RWB, our Defence, Midfield and Attack all have plenty of depth so don't think we will do much unless there's a deal that's too good to miss out on.

Can we also read into it that perhaps his dip in form was at least in part because of the situation?

Has his form really dipped?  I like Morley but in the years he's been here he's always had very good spells followed by a few iffy games.  Given that he hasn't started many lately he's made a decent impact, excellent goal at Shrewsbury, pen at Wycombe, played well at Charlton, we scored 3 after he came on v Exeter and he played his part, didn't play at Oxford.  Yes a poor 20+ minutes at Pompey like most others, and if he was poor v Bristol as well fair enough (I can't recall TBH) but again not on his own, Sheehan has also been poor lately.  Didn't play v Orient, played whole game in the win at Lincoln. Just seems like the same Morley to me, that's his level.

Pretty sure that it's league only.

No it can't be, given no of appearances.

That notwithstanding, all games are important and they're expected to be professional.

You could examine many a goal and weaken its case if you wanted too.

Weren't 2 of them virtual back passes, Wycombe and Shrewsbury?  But I've no problem with players having a shot on target from 20 yards.  Keepers do make a hash of them, or it takes a "cruel" deflection.  4 shots on target out of 21 at Lincoln, a lot to be said just for asking the keeper to work.

On form, Maghoma does stuff that others aren't capable of, running with the ball over distance, beating a man, being physically stronger than his opponent.  Also cross of the season for me at Pompey onto JDBs head, that should have resulted in a Charles goal.

Shows Morley as 2 goals but scored 3 at least, 2 in league and 1 v Salford in BSM.
