They could return, but our chance to replace again would be gone. We should keep what we have until promotion, or failure. 100%, the position we are in , it would be crazy to gamble with chance we have. jmjhb
Coventry signed Mason-Clark from Peterborough for a "substantial undisclosed fee" but loaned him back for the rest of the season Same for Max Bird - signed by Bristol City but loaned back to Derby I don't see how this benefits the buying club at all Edited February 1 by jmjhb
W.cramp
Ennis ended up going to Stoke on a permanent deal. Strange one. On 31/01/2024 at 18:24, Arrested development said:

Two fairly young players doing well in L1, maybe not ready for the championship but with lots of potential and (or!) a good chance of a sell on fee. And opportunity to develop in L1 further. We saw Bristol try it with GT in the summer (granted with no loan clause) -makes sense in Jan that championship clubs would do similarly. *BTW this transfer window has been ace. Until Collins misses a sitter or the West Brom lad gets megged on his 18 yard box, then they can become Jardel and Cid respectively... Well excited, not gonna lie. I could understand it with youngsters coming from abroad, but they're 23 and 24 from the division below and decent money being spent on them. I get why Peterborough would stipulate a loan back but Mason Clark could help Cov up to the Prem this season. Just surprised the Championship clubs agreed to it. Suppose it's the gamble of him potentially costing more if they went up, but equally if they stayed down could get him for less. It's a risk for the championship club in the sense that they may have the opportunity to get them cheaper in the summer- but that's one they feel they can afford to take. As for Peterborough in this case, they have managed to sell a player who has seemingly been wanting out, but have still got him to help with the efforts for promotion. Suits all. Turned out to be a bit of both with decent loanees it seems and Collins being a target for Championship campaign bought early. Taylor was also alleged to be a summer target, but some of the fees suggested recently are perhaps prohibitive. Happy with the window - just wish that Santos hadn’t been injured. Moderators Zico Posted February 2 Moderators Share Posted February 2 West Brom fan I know reckons Caleb Taylor is very good and they expected him to get a game there this season but other players have also been playing well and kept him out
