He's almost 26. If he's not got it, it's not coming. He's Div.4 or Conference level at best.

I know it goes against the grain on here. But I think Dan will be okay

Would love to know what your basing that on?

God this is boring, well into the closed season and not even one serious rumour either in or out and so morose we have to make do with whether we think Dans got it or not. With Dions extended injury it’s obvious that we need another front player in because it’s abundantly clear that neither Dan nor Vic can cut it so I hope we start hearing something soon?

It’s only 3 weeks since Wembley and we’ve a decent squad already, we only need 2/3 signings so wouldn’t expect a busy transfer window unless 2 or 3 are shipped out.
Vic is also a 1 in 3 last season so not sure you can say he does not cut it.

Find the idea of starting the season with Vic and Collins quite exciting. Think they will work well together.

Kachunga played in the prem doesn’t really mean much

Fair play. You've destroyed my position.

I think its more of his all round play, the poor control, lack of aerial threat etc.  Yes he scored 10 league goals in 28 games (& 7 as sub) but he'd got 5 by September including his 3 v Fleetwood.  Scored 5 between October and March before his injury, and the only goal he scored away all season was from a yard at Barnsley.  I think most agree we need to improve on last season if we want to get near the top 2 and that's one area we need better IMO (not saying that's easy to achieve but IE has released 2 strikers so he must have something planned).

Conor Carty is also back in amongst the striker pool, after his injury hit loan to Doncaster.

So Charles, Collins, Adeboyejo, Nlundulu, Gomez and Carty for those 2 spots.

Without moving anyone on I'd be surprised to see a striker come in before any other position.

If Evatt is sticking with his current tactics (and he's a stubborn bugger so he will be) our biggest need is replacing Maghoma plus another creative midfielder. We saw at Wembley the inability to give the forwards any decent service was a massive issue

Can we give this a rest now, I mean I got a response out of her for us which is all I asked for? 😀

The off season blues. They'll get over it when Euro 2024 starts.

I admire your hope.

If Dan comes good this season I'll apologise & eat my words.

If he scores 15+ for us, in the league, this coming season, I will show my arse off the top step of Bolton Town Hall, between the lions, somewhere around 11pm on a Friday night during the month after we've, again, lost in the play-offs.

The last (&, tbf, only) time I did that before was to fulfill a pledge I made of "If Terry Waites gets out of the Gaza strip alive" ... & 4 years later, in 1991, the fckr did. I had to join a civilised queue of people waiting their turn for a vast array of pledges. Each person had a small group of mates who cheered loudly as their pal performed. There were several cops who hung around ensuring things kept peaceful.

Not sure he ever went to the Gaza strip 😁

You're right. It was Beirut/Lebanon.

That was my pledge.

That's it then, doomed to be staying in the third tier for two more seasons 🤣

Dan is strong and has the eye for a pass but he has the touch of a rapist and his shooting isn’t the best so he’ll never be a target man like jdb or cj until his control and general footwork improve massively. And if it ain’t natural to him it’s unlikely it will.

describing someone's touch to that of a rapist is abhorrent. You should think carefully what you post .

Dan would be upset as too would many on here too .

Thinking back a lot of descriptive terms can possibly cause offence, we really do need to think before we cause such upset.

I'm not arsed!

who remembers when Alan Pardew said of Michael Essien "he absolutely rapes him" when describing a challenge on MOTD

I do but when I looked for it to embed it here, what I didn't recall that ironically it was Ched Evans getting raped
