I fully agree with that lusty, we have intelligent players so let them use that intelligence where it matters. Nobody’s saying just let anybody go where they want, there has to be a system but at the moment it seems too rigid and stifles the players, even down to throw ins which have to wait for the designated player to take it even if it slows the game down. Whether we’ll ever get that under Evatt I’m not sure, I think he likes to be in charge too much?

I'm kinda saying the front 3 and the WBs should be allowed to go wherever they want though - and trust them to make good decisions where that should be -  because as long as we've got George, Matete and 3 CBs behind them we have decent cover even if one of them decides to join in as long as someone keeps an eye on rotating out when that happens. It's not rocket science to prevent them all making the same runs because they have eyes in their heads and should know where the danger areas and opportunities are.

When JDC ran diagonally across to the other side of the pitch that led to Tutu's goal I'll bet Evatt was going apoplectic - but stuff like that drags defences all over the shop and I'm all for it. Sure JDC was then out of position but the cover shuffled across so there was no immediate threat to us. And somebody needs to unglue Schon from the touchline.

All in all I'd be less concerned about the "position" a potential signing is recognised as being if we played with more freedom up front and the player has brains, balls and can finish given the opportunity - because we need goal threats everywhere.

Liam Cooper signed for a foreign side on a free this week. Played with Evatt at Chesterfield. Just a guess from me.

It's difficult to see a competent young kid, Matheson, not in the squad list while fb/wb is a place we're short.

Are the club allowed to add him later or are they snookered on that front till January ?

Calm down you drama queen.

He popped in as an ex-player who had some influence with his experience to greet and pass opinion to his old coaching team.

Believe it or not, there’s a large chunk of our ex-players over the last 4 years who’ve spoke positively about Evatt, our club and still keep in touch.

“We had Cam come to visit us again today, it is great to have him in. He still wants to dip in, help the players and be another pair of lenses for me to look through and lean on.

“It has been great to have these senior players to speak to and see what they think.“

Like I said he visited a club/manager he respects, and passed on his views and experiences. 

Only people like you will try to turn this into something negative.

As for other players who have spoke positively and kept a relationship, off the top of my head; Doyle, Trafford, Bradley, Tutte and Gilks stayed on in a coaching capacity, even Dapo, who some seem to claim was forced out due to fallings out has talked about keeping in touch with Evatt and inviting him over to Germany.

Now then where are those socks 🤣🤣🤣

I'd be open to having Jerome involved in a non playing capacity, his knowledge is invaluable 

Many games last season, one that springs out massively was Bristol away where he was coaching the team from the sidelines, while Evatt had his arms folded
