FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

Torres when he went to Chelsea.

Went from world class to bang average. Not just scoring but general performance.

Got me thinking when that’s happened to us. Sasa Curcic sprung to mind, not world class but he was bloody good. Think he ended up being a tramp and porn star when he left Villa.

Dunno what happened to Torres but guess he never wanted the move to Chelsea

Curcic was just bored and lonely in a foreign country earning loads of money, and just more interested in going out on the pull

Went to Palace after Villa - he played when we beat them 5-2 at the Reebok near the end of the season - but it all came crashing down when he went on strike in protest at NATO bombing Belgrade.

I think injuries caught up with Torres which is why Liverpool were happy to sell him. Proper had Chelsea's pants down.

I remember reading that Curcic said he only went on strike to protest about the bombings because it was a convenient excuse for him to be able to carry on partying and not have to play football.

Think it's the most devastated I've ever been about a player leaving when Curcic left.

Turned out well in the end like.

Left just a day or two after I got him on the back of my shirt

The first and last time I've ever done it

Same, but the players were delighted to see the back of him. I remember Alan Thompson in particular being vocal about it.

Why would you put Curcic on the back of your shirt after he left us 🤔

It was.

But it made it very satisfying that he didn't want to go there, was fairly shit for them, came back and was brilliant again for us,

I was out in India last week, coaching on a cricket tour and was with a bloke of similar age who's a Villa fan. He had a few similarly bonkers tales about Curcic and his time there.

Djorkaeff and Blake another two Wanderers legends that just didn't fit at Blackburn, thankfully.

McAteer a star for us and went to Ewood but I can't recall if he was decent for them.

JM said he didn’t enjoy his time at Blackburn and wasn’t anywhere near his best. I watched him on Under the Cosh a few days ago. He said Souness refused to give him time off when his MIL was ill in hospital (she died soon afterwards) and they didn’t get on after that. JM said he didn’t want to play for him and asked for a transfer.
