We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Well I see your Jamie Vardy and raise George Oghani.

Fantastic player til they made him a winger, wtf?.

Will see your George Oghani and raise you Tony Philliskirk,!!!

So just so I can be sure are we writing off yet another player before we’ve even signed him?

Or are we going to wait to see if we actually sign him first and if we do Then actually give him a chance before we call him shit and boo him every week?

The rule is, if we haven't yet signed someone then anyone who rates them is a football manager dickhead.

Once we've signed a player, anyone who doesn't rate them is a football manager dickhead.

We have a shit squad and no money, so i'll take anyone who'll sign for us, but am under no illusions that signing for us is a pretty good sign that they're not very good.

Remind us of the year that was

And why since then he ended up in league one last season

Just asking like

What had Le Fondre done recently before coming to us on loan in league one?

I’d not be overly fussed on Graham one way or another by the way. But he’s patently better than any striker we had last season. And we need at least two strikers signing. He wouldn’t be terrible by any stretch.

He's certainly better than our ALF partner/back-up at the moment

I think Graham is Parky's cup of tea, but can see him resigning for Rovers tbh, unless we offer bigger wages etc, so doubtful imo.

But what year was you basing your stats on?

Hull fans think he's shite, I know a Watford fan who thinks he's great bit that was years ago

If you're expecting him to be the next le fondre at this level then it's a no from me

Not fit to lace Le Fondres boots

Totally different player to ALF, like comparing Madine to ALF.

He’s an off he shoulder striker is he not?

Well I always thought he was anyway. Just a not very clinical one.

Always thought he was a target man, maybe my mistake.

You’ll know more than me mate. I thought he still played for Sunderland :D

I've just checked on the stats you mentioned

That was 2011-2013

Good God

I think Buckley could kick on this year.

For who?

For who?

Us. I think he has a lot more in his locker

Us. I think he has a lot more in his locker

It's a bloody low bar to go up from

Us. I think he has a lot more in his locker

loved to be proved wrong..

But just can’t see it and with his injury record I was so surprised he was offered 2 years

he's been labelled the Turkish Messi

By who?

Can I just add one name to this argument pleaee?, Tony Caldwell, signed from Horwich RMI for around £2500 I think in the early '80s and knocked in a shed-load of goals for us in the time that he was with us.

Different time, different era. That won't happen ever again for anybody

Good God

Last season he got 17. Season before he got 13 league goals in the championship for relegated Blackburn. I’m not having that he’s not significantly better than anyone we’ve got. For Le Fondre you are going back to his Reading days for those sorts of tallies.

As I say, not overly fussed but he’s better than Le Fondre and nobody else, which is our current striker situation.

Graham is not significantly better than Le Fondre

Very similar stats wise but Alf edges is goals and assist wise

Also value wise graham has had fees of 8m to alfs 300k

Graham is a better all round player. Certainly a better option in our system.

Personally I'd prefer neither to be starting next season.

like I say stats say otherwise

Bizzare to say you wouldn’t want Alf starting next season but each to their own

I would actually amazingly

Agree with you that In our current system graham

May well suit us better than Alf. But we don’t know how we are going to play next year at this time. Suspect more of he same But who knows

What I do disagree with is you comparing the two players stats wise. You Have to Remember Alf plays in a team that creates absolutely fuck all Most weeks and feeds of scraps. When graham was last in the championship yes he scored more Goals and yes it was a team that was relegated but they still created a lot more chances than us.
