Maybe we've still been negotiating with him, and talks finally broke down and no contract could be agreed....or perhaps his contract expired after the other players contracts did

Could've done a job for another year IMO if only as back-up. That said, depends how much he was asking for and/or there could be someone a lot better on his way in.

 

Regardless, we wouldn't be where we are now it wasn't for him signing. He'll always be very welcome back in Bolton.

He's 33 in November, so I guess it's feasible that he might have wanted a longer deal than we are prepared to offer.

Shame about Morais. There's no doubt that at finding a yard of space and getting a quality cross in he has few peers.

I guess at nearly 33 there comes a point when there's a judgement call to be made. A footballer's legs don't "pack in" to order over the Summer. A one year deal from us and he might go lame in the middle of next season. Maybe not - he keeps himself fit and he's got a good attitude. I'm sure it was a difficult decision. It'll only be proven to be the right one if we go out there and sign someone younger and better. We might already have that person lined up.

That's usually the case when players aren't on the original released list.

 

Even if he found out officially via twitter either he or his agent must've known the latest position in negotiations with the club

The way it’s worded it suggests he wasn’t offered one in the first place.

More goals of course but Morais wipes the floor with him on assists, which for me is a the main KPI from midfield

Otzumer scores more and is 6-7 years younger and plays in a differentl position, he is not Morais replacement I expect his replacement is in the pipeline.

Aye but midfielder v midfielder Morais is hands down better for assists, The Turk for goals (at the same level in league 1)

 

Don’t get me wrong, I like the fact we have signed the Turk. I just think we could have got more out of Morais last season and I’d have give him another

 

It’s a big step from league 1 to championship but the best players can step up and both of them proved to be the best of league 1

 

Let’s hope PP gives the Turk a chance at this level when he didn’t really do the same for Morais

Footballing ability very limited. Probably under instruction to go back or sideways. Big heart. Great 800m runner. Made a couple of million off us. Nowhere near
