We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Exactly, shows what PP actually managed to pull off.

Does to anyone who isn’t so bitter and twisted they refuse to realise it!

Miquel Nelom ex Feyenoord is supposed to be interesting us, 27 yr old left back, according to Fox Sports. According to Wiki he’s on loan to Sparta so probably bollocks!

ALF is just the latest in a long line of hugely overrated fans' favourites who get better with every game they don't play. .....plus there's a catchy song for him that whoppers can start to sing 2 minutes into any game when he's on the bench.

I'd like him to stay as a squad player, with the Forest match showing how good he can be when he comes on for the last 30 mins against tiring defenders, but in most of the games he started he wasn't good enough & at his age he's not getting any better.

ALF = Marmite.

He scores goals. always has always will.

Just doesnt fit in to how we play and therefore gets scant reward. You simply need players who can grab a goal in your squad.

just being in the squad isnt enough for him so sadly its inevitable what will happen

Does it bollocks

We are talking about ALF

The fanboys love him

That love him so much they think we are starting games 442 with 2 wingers, a dwarf and 2 up front

Maybe we will

Written like that. Seems a daft idea.

However last season seemed to suggest 2 wingers and 2 upfront actually might work better than le fondre upfront and 5 behind him

might explain why we keep buying wingers

Doesn’t fit into how the vast majority of sides play now. How many play 2 up? How many play a midget up top on his own?

442 is dead

Billy sharpe at sheff Utd?

When Clarke isn’t playing

Brentford, who played us off the park

Preston?

Trust me, you dont need to play 2 up top to accommodate Le Fondre

i know you perceive our style of play last season as the be all and end all but it honestly isnt

Stephen Ireland could be moving closer to a move to us according to Nixon.

from what ive seen, they generally play with a sweeper, 2 cbs and 3/5 midfielders

one central striker

either way, with their players, they have options we don't - and thats my point re ALF

if hes happy with 20 minutes a week and we can afford him, i'm happy to keep him - as a supersub, we wont do better

with what we are doing in the market, i just dont see how he starts

dunno about preston, but i do know they have played with one up top when maguire has been fit

dont think what he was saying was directed at you but agree with what your saying

pretty much everyone these days plays with one up top. well, one central and 2 wider men. Its how you get the best out of them that decides if theyre effective

fan5 said he needs to play in a 2 up top. bollocks. Not all teams who have one up top is a big unit. in fact hardly any are these days

He could play that central man with 2 off him all day long. If used the right way. We didnt and i dont think we will moving forward. Either as the main man or someone coming on

Surely if we’re going to play a lone striker, which I think Parky will do, the striker needs to be physically strong, can head the ball and lay the ball on for the other wide men/attackers, no doubt ALF can finish, but just don’t think he can spearhead our team under Parky tbh.

absolutely. Madine, Wilbraham, Donaldson, Wyke all similar

the other types we have had just havent worked. Not because they can only play in a 2 but because the way we play(ed) needs the above

Does anyone think we have 4 midfield players who are good enough to play as a 4 ?

Until we have that Parky would be crazy to play anything other than 4 5 1. Or 4 2 3 1.

I think that's unfair as I think the same could be asked as a 3,2,1 etc

Ireland close to signing apparently

Think this could be a decent addition

Maybe Parky is looking at change of style. Oztumer and Ireland don't suit a long ball team.

Regardless, can't see how we can adopt a 442 with our current midfield. Would he like watching coyle again.

I'm hoping we go something along the lines of new striker, ameobi and wildschut either side with the Turk in behind pulling the strings.

Beevers doesn't suit passing 5 yards

Until we can change that...

Kind of hoping funds permitting he would be replaced and used as a squad player

Hope his Gran is ok?
