Dr. Feelgood
I'd very much have liked him but if Championship clubs are iffering him terms & access to a higher division then good luck to him (unless it's Wigan, naturally). If that all falls through then he'd better hope it happens soon as Evatt will have alternative options. I assume he has had wind of MF going elsewhere for a few weeks. He was a real bright spark for us for 3 or 4 months & I thank him for that. Now, we move on.

The 75k and 125k for Morley and Dempsey were just rumours I heard, no idea how accurate they are. I'm 'looking forward' to seeing who our first player sale for money is. Don't think we'll see it until this time next year however. Sorry typo yes 342k. Forgot to mention Politic he was our first sale for money ,about 50k was it? Ah yeah, totally forgot about that to be fair. I guess what I really mean is - the first transfer that Evatt has brought in and we've sold on for profit then. If we can make 10m from Clough/Madine/Holding during the Anderson shitshow then surely we can better that over the next few years with the proper ownership and positive football we play now. Johnnyrotten
It will be interesting to see where Fossey ends up, I don't personally see him being a championship level player. Much of the good he did for us was down to his pace, which was great for us, but helped greatly by the lack of pace in Lge 1. In games when he was up against a full back that matched him, I can remember being underwhelmed by his play, lacking the quality to beat a man or to get a quality pass/cross in, often turning back, unlike Sadlier who could beat his man. In the championship I'd expect him to be found out against quicker full backs, but good luck to him, unless its at Wigan obviously. But if its Wigan I'd be encouraged that they are signing players unproven at that level.

If you think Sadlier is a better option at RWB then you're officially off your trolley. If we don't sign him and he ends up at a Championship club then fine, we move on. But let's not pretend he wasn't very, very good for us last season. Prior to his injury, if there was anyone playing for us who looked like they'd be able to step up to Championship level then it was him. frank_spencer
Jones and Fossey together down that right side were a tremendous pairing. Sadly due to injuries and Gethin's mums medical issues we didn't see them enough. If he's got championship clubs after him then it obvious where he's ending up. It's disappointing but the club has to find option B quickly and move on.

Site Supporter Cheese Posted June 15, 2022 Site Supporter Share Posted June 15, 2022 Apart from the fact that he provides much needed continuity from the end of last season, it's a very good sign that Manchester City are willing to send players our way - especially England U21's. Says a lot about how our set up is progressing as a whole. Fucking brilliant news.

I'd like a few more than that myself. Geth needs a backup at RCB. Think we could do with 2 RWBs if Isgrove's injury keeps him out. An upgrade on Aimson wouldn't be amiss. I imagine we'll bring in another Amaechi type as well to give us the freedom to change system. And a possible competition for the MJ role as you say. Tommy9322
The only thing we’re missing is pace, Fossey showed how dangerous we can be with it.

Mantra
Pretty happy with this depth as things stand. We're a bit top heavy with 6 players for 2 striker slots, but rather that than have no options. Compare that to 5 centre backs between 3 centreback spots. Especially when Iredale/Johnston/Jones may have to cover wingback if necessary. Definitely need one more centreback unless MJ can cover it. And a specialist RWB should also be on the cards. 2 more signings for me and I'm happy. Bonus if we loan out Thomason and bring someone a bit more competitive in for his midfield spot.
