MickyD Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 (edited) Anyone care to hazard a guess at the date? Clues: Embankment steps are concrete rather than slabs back-filled with cinders TV Box on top of Manny Road Stand Another thing, was the floodlight at the Embankment/Manchester Road corner a lot further up than I recall or was there a time when the old floodlight was dismantled before the new one was erected?Wonder which match it was. No bugger in Embankment nut Manchester Road Paddock looks heaving. Edit: Oh, no dividing fence either Edited December 28, 2016 by MickyD Quote

victor meldrew Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 that is early 70,s at the latest. first segregation happened about 76 Quote
MickyD Posted December 28, 2016 Author Posted December 28, 2016 Was that a police control box on top of the bar in the corner? I remember it but don't recall it being there before the fences. Quote
miamiwhite Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 Judging by the everts on the Manny Road stand no no segregation down the middle I'm plumping for 1974/75, could even be earlier. Opposition would be either Bristol Rovers or Charlton Athletic, we tanked them both and the crowd on both occasions was quite small, approx 8k. Ask me what I've had for brekky this morning, I haven't got a fucking clue. Quote
Casino Posted December 28, 2016 Posted December 28, 2016 That's not the latest tv gantry we had, it got wider Wasnt there a clock on that roof? Quote

MickyD Posted December 28, 2016 Author Posted December 28, 2016 (edited) Just noticed the two Invalid carriages at Manchester Rd South. Didn't they used to drive up one of the ramps up to the Burnden Terrace and someone shifted the fence?I want to know, though, how, from a rainy and empty Embankment and a fairly full Paddock, does Miami narrow it down to two games? I want to know, though, how, from a rainy and empty Embankment and a fairly full Paddock, does Miami narrow it down to two games? Purely from memory Micky, it pissed down against both Bristol Rovers and Charlton, and as mentioned before, the crowd was thinner than Bobby Charlton's syrup. Showed it to a guest and guest is saying it could be against Notts County or Hull City. Definite segregation v Pablo's lot. Edited December 28, 2016 by miamiwhite Quote
