I'm going to start drinking gin.

Strange but I've started to imbibe a long cool Gin and slimline tonic with loads of ice and a slice of lime. I find one lasts an hour whereby before I'd have sunk a bottle of white wine in the same time.

Aye I'm never gonna give up a weekend tipple.

It's a fucker, unless you run to Aimsworth, even then I'm blowing going up the dip either way.

I used to run a loop from LL, up to Ainsworth, down by Bmet golf club back onto Bury rd near what was a Bingo hall (used to be sainsburys?) back along and then down to LL again.

That run up to Ainsworth was always a killer.  Just thinking about it gets me sweating.

Get on't whisky! fook all calories in it and no mixers needed :)

Makes up for the summer when It's all about the cider - that shit puts weight on you just from looking at a pint . . .

Ouch!

Its hilly as fook where I live now.  Went out for a run round the block (3 mile or so) when I first got here and was always going up or down a hill.  Not much fun and whilst I like to blame my back, which is knackered, I think one of the reasons I've stopped running is because the hills nearly kill me :)

My calf muscle 'popped' about 2 years ago running up one.  Could barely walk for 2 weeks and I always warm up and stretch!  Must be getting old ha!

hence my taking up golf - snort all you want but I walk around 5 miles up and down a valley carrying about 10 kilos.  They reckon you burn about 1500 calories . . .

All that hard surface running; no wonder your knees are fucked. Once in ainsworth, go past duke William and follow path into Georges wood then past the cottages, up the hill adjacent to the old hospital, down to the bridge, around the lakes and back. Nearly all cross country so kinder.

Less pollution so better for you and greener too.

You will develop trench foot though.

Worsley is a flat one but it's dull. Heaton Park is a good one, flatter than Bolton and a 'nice' run. I'm doing it this Sat and hoping to get under 22 mins for the first time. I'm sure Malcolm will let you know if I did it.
