jayjayoghani Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Got my PB down to 21:44 on a really fast course, but now just run once a week. Not a natural runner so I'm up to 25 again. That 1.5% stat if true is dire Quote
Moderators Casino Posted February 16, 2017 Author Moderators Posted February 16, 2017 I'd be happy with 42 to be honest. Not really arsed what I do but from nowt at new year, I'd be pretty happy to break 35 Quote

Smiley Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Looking good for finding the flattest park run in the country in 5 weeks Stretford is a good one. Totally flat. Has a stint on a running track as well. Wythenshawe is a flat one, but muddy. Quote
birch-chorley Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Cuerden Park is a killer The hills are ridiculous Just off Jct 9 of the M61 (Walton Summit / Bamber bridge) if anyone fancies a testing course Quote

Big E Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Sweep i have forgotten to wear my step counter.....i promise to up my game next week. on a side note....anyone got any stretching recommendations. running 7-10km 3 times a week is making me stiff as Quote
birch-chorley Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 If you can handle it try a cold shower or bath immediately afterwards That helps getting rid of the lactic acid in your legs and your good to go again the next day Takes a bit of getting used too, the first 30 seconds are the hardest Quote

It's horrible but I must admit, I don't hurt so much the day after now. Apparently it's good for your hair too though I'm not sure many on here would benefit from that advice. Quote

Maggie Tate Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 some tips from Joe. Christ what a cunt. The important thing is to do stretches which you can increase. It should take about thirty seconds per leg per stretch, not all this pricking about he seems to think is necessary. That one he does at about nine minutes is essential, but much better stood up and you need to have your knees together unlike him. But importantly it can be increased by gently thrusting the crotch forwards and holding it out there, which this charlatan Joe ignores. Quote
Big E Posted February 16, 2017 Posted February 16, 2017 Take on more water than a camel E. so pretend its space around 6:30 hahaha Quote

Members DazBob Posted February 18, 2017 Members Posted February 18, 2017 Worsley is a flat one but it's dull. Heaton Park is a good one, flatter than Bolton and a 'nice' run. I'm doing it this Sat and hoping to get under 22 mins for the first time. I'm sure Malcolm will let you know if I did it. 21:37 this morning. 01:03 quicker than previous PB so chuffed with that. gonzo Posted February 18, 2017 Posted February 18, 2017 Done two weeks off the ale and feel fucking ace. Things were getting a bit tricky again just before that. Been doing 600 calories a session on cardio alone for 4 weeks. Off the wagon tomorrow though. Miller & carter with pints of peroni on draught Quote
