First run since November last night. Wasn't as tough as I thought, but starting to ache a bit now. Clocked 5.86km in 37 mins. So more of a canter than a run. The injuries didn't flare up either.

At lunch yesterday I was reading about the great Czech runner Emil Zatopek's saying "if you can't go on, go faster". It seems counter intuitive but the new challenge provides a new focus, it's certainly something worth trying (not you Casino, I don't want to be accused of pushing you into a hospital bed).

I had to stop pushing the envelope, my heart rate was reaching 174-176 at times, starting having palpitations and could feel irregular beats at rest...

Eased back a bit to easing off around 170, and no more palpations etc.

If you're, like me, f, f, f, thirty nine and a bit or over it's all about heartrate imo.

I could if I was chasing a 14 inch pizza :)

Bolton parkrun is where the time must be done

Good attitude that.

He's reet though, if you did Heaton Park or Worsley, for example, you'd knock at least a minute off. I always use Bolton as my benchmark though as it's the one I do most often.

Hoping to do Park Run at Stretford this coming Saturday. Won't be clocking in any decent time. Guessing it will be mega-busy as its Marathon weekend.

Also put a spin-bike into my home gym yesterday. Legs are fooked from using it last night!

Yeah I've used a few. Some nice some shite. Didn't lose any weight but that's cos I kept going to chippy and eating shite as well. But know a few folk who've lost a fair bit eating his stuff.

IMO it's no better than weight watchers or slimming world though

anyone used any recipes from the Joe Wick's books?  (The Body Coach?

Mrs Sweep has 3 of his books, the recipes are really good. She's trying to lose weight, but like you, I just want to eat a little bit healthier

He's the Yorkshire Ripper's son - fact.

His self-loathing on account of this means he lives in the gym, he also subsists solely on a diet of; pink wafer biscuits, full fat milk laced with Strawberry Crusha, Neopolitan Ice Cream, pipless tangerines, Banana Protein Shakes and Chicken Mcnugget Happy Meals.

Despite this shit diet he gets away with it because he's about twenty five and he lives in the gym.

His recipes are ghost written - he's a charlatan.
