Excellent day out.

Along with everyone else we were well up for this one.

8.50 train from Bolton ensured we were on the Stoke train at 9.35.

Along with plenty of London marathon runners.

If they think that's hard work they want to try watching the Wanderers home and away.

Grumpy Bat in mischievous form , water pistol now on his xmas list.

Breakfast in Spoons, well timed before the ravenous hoards arrived.

With Whispering Bobs local knowledge onto The White Star, which was host to an excellent array of fine ales.

Not a John Smiths in site.

Mini bus had been arranged for 2.15 , so plenty of time to call in The Glebe.

Spent a good 15 mins chatting to The Bolton News's Alan Houghton.

Nice guy , was aware of Wanderers Ways and did point out he is restricted to what the paper allow him to say in his reports.Every thing has to be politically correct,it seems his drinking partner is also restricted in the manners department.

Anyway mini bus arrives ,( flaming 21 seater!!!) for 10 of us. No problem filling it though ,off we rattled to the ground.

As is usual now ,loads of faces and a great atmosphere. For once the match flew by, Wheater and the lads did us proud.

Shame about the Fleetwood result. Out of the ground , eventually found the buzz, Ashburton Street and Pinocheo's Dad got stressed . Think a trip to Mexico is in order , to calm Mister Geppetto down.

Back to the Glebe then back on the rattler to Piccadilly.

Where our resident stalker Casino appeared, pissed again . Very friendly , but with an almost unhealthy fetish regarding certain members our group. Roll on next Sunday and hopefully Mr Beevers will bring his hat.

Nice to see Jeep as I wanderered home. ( PS , I didn't get knocked back )

Just got back

What a day; left Euston on the 9am and arrived in Stoke at 10.25 then off to Spoons - crammed with Bolton at that time with Embankments mob feasting on their breakie.

Early taxi to the Bulls Head in Burslem where we drank Iceburg real ale until 2.35pm; great barbeque there as well

Atmosphere was spot on and though we didn't play that well its all about winning and when Wheater scored it seemed we were up with Fleetwood losing at the time.

Never mind we should seal it next week

Went for a couple of beers back in the smoke with Whiteboy, Garps, Sober Dan and a few others

Its great being a Wanderer

Well that was a moody place to go to. That Vale pub something Tavern I think? Our cab stopped directly outside on the way there, which was a bit hairy and we had to walk past it on our way back, we came back in one piece of course!

Got into a pub about 15 mins from the ground before hand, landlord said, you might as well stay here boys if you go any further you'll get rounded up and taken to the ground by the police, Unfortunately we ignored him and walked further up and got rounded up by the police for an escort to the ground, after about 10 yards, A mob turned up and ran straight into the vale boloons following us, the police froze and had no idea what to do but then decided they should stop the fighting thus leaving our mob ungarded except for one police women, so Me, Mr H and Dan decided this would be the ideal opportunity to leave the mob and wander over to a pub about 20 yards away only for the police women to get on the radio and shout 'Theres 3 of em trying to escape'  as though we were prisioners of war, obviously we ignored her and once reaching the pub found Little Witt, MR58 and the rest of our lot in there, fuck knows how they got in there before us. The person who was set next to me on the coach never made it back, a casualty of our pitch invasion who the police decided should sit with them for the evening

Reminded me of the last time we played them, loads of lads out and a great day. Think I'm gonna miss this division and winning

Great day.

Drove down as the kids had a late morning kick off at football.

All 3 said it's there best day out watching the whites.

Stopped off for some tea and a pint at The Windmill (just off j19) on the way back only to pull up as a coach load of Vulcan lads we're getting off.

Onwards and Upwards.

Recognised a few of the lads and spoke to a couple when we first got in.
