little whitt Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 £12.50 Return from Lancaster.... how much to get to Lancaster Quote
Escobarp Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Could you buy the Lancaster ticket and jump on somewhere closer? Ie Wigan or Preston maybe? Quote
BOWTUN BAKED Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Great price, I hope it doesn't get moved for Sky!! Quote
birch-chorley Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Could you buy the Lancaster ticket and jump on somewhere closer? Ie Wigan or Preston maybe? Yes I have done it a few times Bought from Lancaster to London rather than Wigan, It can often be cheaper from Lancaster than Wigan then you just jump on there and take your seat. Something to do with on / off peak ticket classifications, as it passes through Lancaster at X o clock it's off peak, by the time it hits Wigan it's on peak Quote
Escobarp Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Cheers. Irrelevant for me I just wondered for others. Makes sense to do it that way doesn't it if cheaper. Quote
QFPants Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 You can do it but it's not exactly legal http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/02/03/virgin-trains-acting-like-gestapo-says-businessman-detained/ Quote
birch-chorley Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Wasn't aware that it was illegal You'd assume that your fine getting on at the next stop Then again I'd never think to thumb through the T&C's Quote
Moderators Zico Posted June 25, 2017 Moderators Posted June 25, 2017 Been down London a few times with work recently and each time the ticket has been from piccadilly but ive got on a stockport Asked inspector on way in if ok and he said he wouldn't advise but they don't enforce it - said if there was a problem with the train at piccadilly where they had to re route it or something there'd be nowt I could do like get my ticket changed at stockport But he wasn't arsed, but probably because it doesn't make the ticket cheaper Quote
radcliffe white Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Boring away this done so many times, so out Great price tho Quote
Marc505 Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Haven't actually been Villa since the semi final second leg Alamo game, so in. Need to sort Ipswich before this though Quote
jturner Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Its probably the most exciting away fixture of the season for me.Biggest club in the division, an old skool ground, day out in a big city, not very far and reasonable chance of a result. Quote
captainmed Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Boring away this done so many times, so out Great price tho In one. Horrible round the ground & Brum is a shit-hole. Quote

Traf Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Ipswich is the shittest away I've done Worse than Norwich? Quote
radcliffe white Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Just seen that villas away pricing is 3 bands £35,30 & 25 Quote
Escobarp Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Ipswich a whole lot worse than Norwich in all respects. Although I've family in Ipswich so free accommodation for me Quote
captainmed Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 (edited) Ipswich a whole lot worse than Norwich in all respects. Although I've family in Ipswich so free accommodation for meA little market town full of Eastern Europeans and farmers. All the pubs have signs "home fans only" yet there's no bouncers on the door or any punters in them. Terrible to get to both by car and train from the north. OUT. Members DirtySanchez Posted June 25, 2017 Members Posted June 25, 2017 Is there not a train from picadilly that goes direct to Norwich? It's a long journey but at least you can get some supping done Quote
captainmed Posted June 25, 2017 Posted June 25, 2017 Is there not a train from picadilly that goes direct to Norwich? Unpleasant, especially if you're thinking of doing a day return. Quote
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted June 26, 2017 Site Supporter Posted June 26, 2017 Ipswich, Norwich, Reading and Middlesbrough were 4 I had no intention of going anywhere near no matter when they are. Horrible places Quote
radcliffe white Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 For the top categories last season 12 clubs charged £30 upwards one charging £40. I know we won't fall into the top band for most clubs but the championship has overtaken the premier in terms of away prices now the cap has been brought in Quote
Moderators Zico Posted June 26, 2017 Moderators Posted June 26, 2017 Unpleasant, especially if you're thinking of doing a day return. And you need a shit at some point Quote
Marc505 Posted June 26, 2017 Posted June 26, 2017 Ipswich is the shittest away I've done Needs ticking off (so does Norwich) so now's the time. Both come with such glowing reviews on here too! Quote
