I think we can now categorically blame Brexit for our current predicament, we took back control and gave it to a bunch of cunts.

It's a massive blind spot for a lot of people. "The Tories and Brexit aren't to blame!! It's the war (we're not fighting), and the pandemic (that affected everyone on the planet)!"

Meanwhile, ol’ sleepy Uncle Joe continues to implement sensible, well thought out policies, strengthening America whilst the rest of the world have a fucking game of political X Factor.

He’s holding their crackpots at bay and managing to make his country stronger than ever with his boring politics and dull, hard-working attitude.

We need to get rid of this incessant populist agenda. Nothing is getting done.

What's his policy on offending left wing Hollywood celebrities though?

And is their liberal, hegemony over for good?

He's just a puppet of the evil Pelosi and the creeping left wing agenda of the US, or something like that anyway.

It seems that even though the BoE were meeting the day before, nobody from the Govt decide to let em in on the secret

Listened to Jim O Neill on the way home and he definitely didnt cheer me up

Hes definitely not in the 'lets give them time' camp

Me neither, Truss and KK need terminating asap. Not sure what the Tories can do to facilitate it but whatever it takes they need to do it.

Some major current issues need a cross-party consensus to implement solutions. So placing clear blue water between the major parties lacks acumen.

Labour just backed a motion for PR. I.remain to be convinced but I do.think it's ahead of the curve in terms of the way the public does seem.to want more cross party cooperation, and away from the sort of things that have happened this week.

Given the bulk of the electorate usually vote for parties to the left of the tories it definitely doesn't bode well for the blue team.

Labour, LibDem, Plaid Cymru, SNP and that green party lass from Brighton working together looks to be the way forward. At least til the tories sort out their shit.

Can also see it causing a split in the 2 main parties with Labour having a lefty arm and a centrist one and tories having a centrist arm and a more right leaning one.

I'm far from convinced.

It'd likely lead to the end of the "broad church" coalition that is the current Labour Party and would only give greater power to the extremes at either end. Election results in Europe prove proportional representation isn't a bulwark against a populist right government either (if that's one of the intended aims).

And that's before getting on to the interminable negotiations that happen between parties in order to form coalition governments after the vote.
