The horse has bolted

Youre very analytical, compared to me anyroad

How long do you give em?

I really can't say. More U-turns will be needed and can happen to cling to power.

As for the BoE it's suffering from the Carney years. Interest rates should have moved up years ago and the long-term inflation target of 2% would (always) have been better as 4%.

Do you remember how very unpopular Thatcher was a the end of 1981? She would have been replaced the next year but got lucky when the Falklands were invaded. She realised she had to take on the Argies and win the islands back, whatever the cost in terms of money or casualties.

I think Truss and KK will plough on and something may happen to give them a breathing space. Maybe the American mid-term elections and a Euro crisis, or something quite unexpected. Otherwise they are doomed.

House of cards like 05 all over again.

It could well be - something somewhere is going to have to give. One of my mates comes off his fixed rate in January, he's already starting to sweat, as he's paying around £1900 per month, on a fixed of 1.59%, so fuck knows what he might end up paying
