Farrelli
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-63741465 More brexit benefits. It was said many times during the brexit campaign that we risk reducing our environmental laws, food safety and workers rights by leaving the EU. If we scrap these laws we are also going to see confusion for business.

The lads holiday but sounded dreadful? A lads holiday believe it or not is friends socialising. Like I said it’s not for everyone. There are however plenty of Karaoke bars on foreign shores. You and your mates can bang out some SMASH classics. Traffs your man 👍

Going out with a group of blokes on holiday just getting pissed and on the pull isn't something that has ever massively interested me. Its got nothing to do with saying that I don't like spending time with my friends. Its just different people enjoy doing different things. See? Not that difficult, is it? Im sorry Britain moved on without you, but we had to. We couldn’t just sit around with you still shouting at each other down analogue phones and switching between 2 TV channels using a walking stick. Apologies for all longer life expectancy, the amazing drugs and cancer cures, and the ability to whisk you to your cruise ship on an aeroplane that you sat and watched a movie on. We’re sorry. I hope you find your utopia in whatever clatteringly awful 60’s life you aspire to. Which isn’t weird in any way. You see again spider you’re completely missing the point. I could list hundreds of things that are better today and I’d have no arguments with you about any of them. Maybe you’re right and I’m just a miserable old cunt looking through my rose tinted but despite all the fantastic advances I’ve seen in my lifetime, I’d swap it all for the amazing times of the fifties and sixties, a period which will never be repeated and during which so many changes occurred. The “roaring” sixties in particular were completely incredible and the modern lifestyles we have today were borne from it. Look, the modern world is fantastic in so many ways and I’m not going to argue with you on that but I’m afraid it also has its downsides and for me that’s where the difference is. You weren’t there, you couldn’t possibly know and I accept that, so if you’re happy with the world you’re making then that’s all that matters. Personally I fear and despair of what I’m leaving for my grandkids but I accept it’s down to them to make the best of it and I’m sure they will. Group of my mates, when were around 19, went on a lads holiday to Magaluf I wasn't interested so didn't bother. They were all like Jay from the Inbetweeners about how great it was going to be Basically involved getting pissed at night, sleeping it off during the day, then getting pissed at night and repeat And like Jay, none of them pulled

I think if you look back, difficult for you I know, it all turned pear shaped in the 70’s and eighties when we joined and expanded the EU and idiots like you gave away everything we and our predecessors had built for you, then allowed Tony Blair not only to decimate the Middle East but also to ignore mass immigration from Europe. It's sad that you feel like that, as it's really not that shit, honestly. I do believe that each generation honestly believe the one they "grew up in" was/is better than the present day, I suspect this has always happened, even back as far as when we were scratching around in mudhuts and the Romans arrived. Although to be fair, this article does suggest that 1957 was a corker of a year 🙂: We’ve never had it so good: 1957 was the happiest year | News | The Times

I suspect that you're more likely to have been involved in those things than NiC, if we're talking about the 70's and 80's as you would have been of voting age, and NiC wouldn't have been..........if it started to go wrong in the 70's then the blame surely lies with those born in the 1950's and 60's (and earlier) does it not? Moderators Carlos Posted November 30, 2022 Moderators Share Posted November 30, 2022 As I sit here, nice and cosy in my home office, more comfortable than any previous generations of my family, it doesn't feel like anything went pear shaped. My biggest concern is when do my pensions grow enough for me to retire. Here's when it went wrong, an example. My grandad was held prisoner by the Japanese for 4 years, to say he didn't like them was an understatement. By the 70s, he was throwing money at them buying their tech, Hitachi tape player, Sony colour TV, Nikon camera etc. Because what were we building? Amstrad? British Leyland cars that rotted away in a couple of years? We got left behind, focusing on shite like coal mining. But yes, blame the EU and immigration, like an Aldi Nigel Farage. BobyBrno
When us ‘Baby Boomers’ have pegged it we’ll be replaced by another generation saying the same things about things being better. The generation gap has always been there. As far as modern technology making our lives better, certainly. Whether it makes us happier though is another matter. Its a football forum. The Reebok is a fantastic stadium but I enjoyed my football more at Burnden. Edited November 30, 2022 by BobyBrno

In the teen years all about beer and birds and Bolton. Into twenties work also started to be part of the chat , thirties houses and kids forties divorces added in and now in 50s pensions are the 'in thing' . The 'birds' have evolved into girlfriends, wives and ex wives. I went to Cambs with a lad I have known since Uni, with my step son and my mates 2 kids. (18 and 14). I get together with 50-60 ex Uni lads at least once a year, others do it more often. OK it ain't like 10 of us getting a coach from Moor Lane to the South of France as I did at 17, but the whole 'lads together' experience is still brilliant. We all have loads of other stuff going in but think I will always make time for these days.
