That number is, as you probably know, skewed.

“Growth” will always look good when you consider the plunge we had was much bigger than those around us.

for example:

Just now, globaldiver said:

Don’t we measure GDP differently anyway?

Which would make comparisons pointless.

Measure an economy in food banks and millionaires. Then decide how well we’re doing as a whole.

Or to look at it another way

The public sector is propping up our figures?

Need you to come out of retirement and put your shoulder to the wheel again 😁

I don't get it

if 2010 = 100

and I assume they mean the year

what is 105, 110, 115 etc

and if it's not the year, I'll ask the same question

100 what?

If you do a google image search for that specific graph, the only source is a Conservative MP called Anthony Browne who posted it on twitter. It literally doesn't appear anywhere else. Happy to be corrected by @globaldiver if he wants to point us in the right direction?

It’s also inaccurate if you actually add up the official gdp figures for those years.

But they also don’t count.

Its all very strange

I posted it further up, along with Germany’s.

Weve established that our “growth” is down to the service sector, which was also the sector that caused the most drag.

So it’s growth but from a fairly low base to start with.
