I suspect we'll creep slowly back towards EU membership over the next couple of decades, and as our economy gradually regains all the things we lost, once we're fully in again, everyone who voted Leave will rejoice "At last! This is the type of Brexit we voted for!"

You can say the similar about the UK being heavily service based we struggled over covid, none of the EU countries are pulling trees up, certainly our performance compared to the other EU countries isn’t a reason for ripping up Brexit and starting again… yes let’s continue to negotiate with the EU and make it easier for us to export, something along the lines of how we are dealing with EU imports using a soft touch…. I await the EU to begin acting sensibly.

I know you believe in brexit and fair enough.

However, to think we somehow should have different rules because we used to be in the EU club is fantasy. We are a 3rd country now and the EU will deal with us just like we did to all other countries when we were in the EU. Except for NI of course who have the best of both worlds.

Who said that? Do you have a link?

Liam Fox wasn't it? (talking about the a free trade deal with the EU)

Regarding the US, we were told by Obama that we'd be at the back of the queue not that I think the EU will get much more of a deal with them, anymore than we will, in the coming years

So the comment by Spider had nowt to do with UK US deal. I’ll await his post or link confirming who said it.

And Maggie Tate said we’d sort something with the US before breakfast the following day.

You can't take anything he ever said seriously, he was wrong about almost everything

That's the silliest post in a while (and I include Boltys rants in that)

I’d change couple of decades to a couple of years if Labour win especially. I think the economy will be a big bet for the next election. How and the deal we get frightens me after our guys did such a good job of leaving. Should be fun.

Thx for confirming no one said it about uk us deal. Stop making a tit of yourself. Have a good day.

It’s a post specifically about Boris saying a deal would happen. Years ago.

Give your glasses a wipe 🥰

No one said about uk us trade deal and I quote you, “easiest deals in history” I’ll move on as you can’t back your comment up with a factual response.

Boris said we’d get a deal.

He may have given the impression it wouldn’t be a problem.

Fact is, trade deals were trumpeted as a key component of Brexit and so far we’ve signed deals we already had along with one that gets us cheap marmite from the Aussies.

Trade deal with the biggest economy on earth? Lol.

I'm not sure even he believes some of the stuff he posts these days, he's actually become a parody of himself.

I resemble that remark.
