Love it round here at election time. Oldham council dominated by Labour and all sorts of accusations about block voting, pandering to brown folk, too many mosques, yada yada yada. But barely anyone round here would ever vote Tory. So over the years we’ve seen the rise of the independents so that our little area can tell Oldham council to fuck off when all the money is spent in Glodwick and all the shithole areas and we get fuck all. All well and good until it becomes Pythonesque with the Independent Party vs the Local Independent Party and the arguments on local social media make royal white and Cheese’s bickering look like a friendly discussion over a pint

Not because I think all Tory councils are badly run across the country because that is clearly not the case.

However just to give Sunak and the rest of them a shove to call a GE sooner rather than later.

The Labour candidate for his seat was the year above me at school. Can't remember much, like. Wanderer if I'm not mistaken.

The SNP disaster will deliver the reds plenty of seats and then factor in Reform fracturing the conservative vote and it may well be a red UK for a very long time unless the gobshites slide into their usual malaise.

The upcoming "slaughter" as you put it is nothing to do with having been in power for too long, absolutely nothing. 

It's because of how they've run the country since they allowed that dick Johnson to run the party, it's been downhill ever since then. 

To blame the fact it's down to being in power for a long time is ridiculous, and shows that you may be a little out of touch with the political feeling of the public, here in the UK

The big majority after the 'Brexit election' gave a feeling of complacency, Boris was incompetent by every measure and appointed  people with no right to hold positions in senior government. (Hancock,Dorries, Coffey etc etc).

The level of infighting has been disgraceful, they can not put forward a single radical policy as a party because at least one faction will oppose it and the complete and utter lack of leadership makes them look stupid. Every week they send MPs to appear on Question Time and it seems every week the audience are laughing out loud at their answers. 
 

The amount of money that has been chucked at the Rwanda scheme at the expense of other options makes them look even more stupid everytime it is discussed but they are so out of touch they think it is a vote winner. Even Farage and Reform take the piss out of it. 
 

Bolty is right they have been in power for too laugh but to suggest that is 'purely' the reason is nonsense ignoring the corruption, infighting and incompetence. The one remaining argument they seem to have is that the 'other lot' will be as bad. The left have ruined the country apparently so surely the right wing can be equally as effective when out of government ?
