Spot on.

In the same way that the Tories will now criticise Labour, for doing exactly what the Tories did.

If its a poor choice now, it was a poor choice then.

Maybe but they still have a lot of in year spend to claw back…and a budget coming up….

Yougov polling yesterday suggests the public supports the means test on WFA. Not by huge margins and obviously not over 65’s but broadly there is support. I think they would say it’s a bad choice out of a set of bad choices.

Yep, works for me.

In fact get all those non-nationals out of the judicial system and deport them, free up the space for our own criminals.

But still build more prisons ASAP.

I think it's more about the message such lenient punishment sends out

We'd find it very difficult to deport them if there's a risk they might come to harm in their own countries, or if the have children / a partner here and deporting them would infringe upon their "right to a family life"

Indeed, but the terms and conditions of being granted refuge/asylum should include an instant return to your homeland if you are convicted of a criminal offence.

They should, but that'd be in breach of Articles 3 and 8 of the ECHR so is unfortunately a non-starter

And also Section 4 of the Human Rights Act

Whats our opinion on countries sending our criminals back? Say for example someone murders someone in Spain, do they send them back here?

I think the preferred option is send murderers back home and our homegrown murderers stay where they did the crime.

After they have served their sentence, then yes, I do think they should be deported

Agree with this. Serve the time in the place the offence was committed, and then send back from where they came once released

Anyone who's here as a immigrant or refugee who's convicted of a violent crime/sexual offences should be on the the first plane/boat/trebuchet back to their home country once they've served their time.

I am liking this constructive suggestion Frank.

Sex pests and kiddy fiddlers are returned to their home country via the siege weapon of the victim's or their family's choice.
