Starmer has previously insisted his acceptance of hospitality is related to his security requirements of not being able to go into the stands, saying: “If I don’t accept a gift of hospitality, I can’t go to a game. You could say: ‘Well, bad luck.’

You could say, pay for it yourself!

No such thing as a free lunch👍

I find it very hard to be arsed about this. The same as I find it very hard to be arsed about Sue Gray being paid £3000 more than the PM per year.

Arsed enough to reply though😉 It’s the Guardian though not the Mail. The BBC came up with the Sue Gray story.
How to lose friends and alienate people.

It's just noise for me.

I hope he just gets his head down and cracks on with things. I don't really care if he takes a million a year in freebies if he turns the country out of the shit.

The hospitality tickets from Arsenal - even though it needn't be a hospitality ticket to guarantee his safety - is really a perk of the job and is broadly fine

But neither he nor his wife should be accepting tickets to a Taylor Swift concert from the Premier League in the midst of the drafting of the Football Governance Bill

There are also questions about the role and influence of Lord Alli, and I'm surprised a politician who ran on a platform of transparency and public service has allowed himself to get broiled up in this kind of thing

He has made a marvellous start. Liberating hardened criminals to jail immigration protestors and subjecting pensioners to hypothermia.

The lad's a born winner. :rolleyes2:

No, you need to be outraged you fool.

It's a big deal.

Bigger than Mone, Matt Hancock's mate from the pub and all the dodgy covid contacts combined.

"Keir Staliner" - that's world class word play! It's funny because his surname is Starmer and that sounds a bit like Stalin who Kier Starmer is definitely like the modern version of and that! 🙄🤣

Devolution for Lancashire granted yesterday but there won't be a mayor.

Not that it matters to you lot :)

Been reading about it.

Will it really make much of a difference?

We hear the usual "decisions being made locally" etc, but overall, is any more money available?

Does another layer of bureaucracy help or hinder?

I remember the good old days when a prime minister could claim expenses and it was just a perk of the job

😁

Or just get one of his mates to fix him up with a chap ready to lend him 800k and then get the fixer a nice gig at the BBC.

It was all fine back then, simpler times.

You lot will stop defending him by Q1 next year. The shambles is just starting.

Personally I can't see a problem with letting the prime minister take his usual seat on the terraces in a 60,000+ seat stadium.

I'm sure providing he doesn't smoke in the bogs at half time then no harm will come to him! 👍

I wonder if he'll be at the Bolton game? And which tier he'll be sitting in or whether he'll have more than one? 😁
