Underpants Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Supporting two teams. I dont mean having a liking for another club. I mean actually supporting another one. Be it north of the border, Europe or wherever. I find it all very odd. Quote
Site Supporter Good Knee Posted August 5, 2017 Site Supporter Posted August 5, 2017 Couldn't do it wanderers and wanderers reserves and junior teams only . Quote
gonzo Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I understand having an interest, but surely you don't get the same buzz when your other team scores a last minute winner?? When Bolton are playing, no matter where I am it's all that matters. Couldn't get that with another club surely. Quote
tomski Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 One club man here. I like teams in each European league but it's more to have an interest rather than support. Met a Northampton and Liverpool fan yesterday, nice bloke but can't help being a little suspicious when they fire two teams at you. Quote
stevieb Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Like them fucking weirdo's that have a club they support for every sport. Quote
tomski Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Like them fucking weirdo's that have a club they support for every sport.Aye. Rent a club Quote
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted August 5, 2017 Site Supporter Posted August 5, 2017 I don't have that much interest in football away from Bolton but I do usually support 2 teams - Bolton and whoever play Blackburn Quote
darrener Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I don't have that much interest in football away from Bolton but I do usually support 2 teams - Bolton and whoever play Blackburnagree with that brother Quote
miamiwhite Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 After the Muamba incident, got a soft spot for Tottenham Hotspur. Other than that, they can all get fucked. Quote
Escobarp Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Difference between a soft spot and full on support. I go watching both rangers and hibs for different reasons up here but when they score it's a "force yourself to stand up and clap" sort of celebration rather than a full on celebration when bolton score. Be that at the match or watching it in a pub or at home. Impossible I think to properly support two teams. You have one Club Quote
tomski Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Bury fans seem to have no issue with it ???? Quote
Sweep Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 What about these Bolton fans who reckon they also support Rangers? Firstly, scotch football is utter biz, and secondly..its scotch football, therefore utter biz. Quote
stevieb Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Bury fans seem to have no issue with it ???? Hoowers Quote
Sweep Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Bury fans seem to have no issue with it ???? Good point. The fact Is, its actually impossible to support 2 teams. If they played each other, you would prefer one over the other (presumably) therefore you really only support one of them, and "like" the other Quote
Members bolty58 Posted August 5, 2017 Members Posted August 5, 2017 What about these Bolton fans who reckon they also support Rangers? I'll erase the sentence which looked like it was written by an 8 year old. 'Support' is debatable. Empathise, wish well etc. then yes, guilty as charged. Quote
Gonk Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Bigamist E will be along soon trying to justify his slutty behaviour Quote
birch-chorley Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Big E has more clubs than Tiger Woods Quote
frank_spencer Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 My Uncle who I mentioned on another thread is going to get his second reference of the day. He grew up round here and supported Citeh. Moved down south to Bournemouth to work for Barclays. Started going regular got a ST etc It wasn't an issue as they were shit and in the lower divisions. Used to come up for a few citeh games a season around family visits. Probably been to more Bournemouth games now than citeh ones He always said that he was more of a blue than a cherry. These past few seasons he said he genuinely doesn't know who he wants to win between the 2 now their both in the prem. Quote
MancWanderer Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Don't understand it. At all. I'm with miami in that I have a soft spot for Spurs after previously despising them after the late 70's promotion battles. Beyond that no, other than Wigan RL, Lancs Cricket and I would genuinely travel to the US to watch the Redskins Quote
H Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 When I was a kid I picked a team to follow in each of the three lower leagues and the two Scottish leagues. Can't say I supported them but still tend to notice their results years later. Quote
Adlington Trotter Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Having a Carlisle supporting wife means I have a soft spot for them and look out for their results. I couldn't get my head around English folk cheering on Wales and Ireland at the Euros last year. Just wrong. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 I'll stick my hand up on this one. Have supported Hibs for not too many years less than I've supported BWFC. Started as choosing them as my 'Scottish team' as a kid and kind of developed from there. I suppose it speaks for itself that I've only been to a couple of games since Lennon was appointed purely because of his failure as BWFC boss, but I will say witnessing Hibs winning the Scottish Cup in 2014 for the first time in 112 years was one of the finest days of my life. Watched that game with my mate who I've been going with to BWFC games for 20+ years (who delayed coming back from Dundee away the other week so he could watch Hibs the following day). In addition to my BWFC season ticket I have one at Atherton Colls as well but that's a different kind of supporting I guess. Though having re-read this post even I'm wondering just how fucking weird I must be. Quote
LeggyMountbatten Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 BWFC & Kilmarnock for family reasons Quote
embankment Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 Totally does Not compute with me. Likewise Half and Half scarves. Quote
