I'm no expert, but always back the inner draws at Chester, very tough to win from the wide draws there

I've heard this a lot and every time I've been it's been fairly accurate.

We go in the cheap entry middle of the course. Last time we asked the stewards near the line who they were on. They weren't for telling us but when the winner crossed the line they showed us their £10 win bets on an 8/1 winner. The twats!

Stalls 1 & 2 are fine, if you've a horse that breaks out quickly. If it doesn't then that's actually the worst draw you can get.

I'd prefer 3 and 4, as basic maths tells you that you can aim for the apex of the 1st bend at a higher speed.

Look for horses with previous decent form over course and distance and also keep an eye on those trained by Kevin Ryan.

If you want more specific pointers, I'm happy to have a look for you in the morning.

Good job Chester's nice and the weather is good!

5.55 Brigand - Beat a decent horse in Maypole on his second start and ran well for a long way last time coming of a six-month break.

6.30 Chitra - big price but showed some promise on her first start before running green in soft ground last time out.  Could be worth another go on better ground.

7.05 Angelina D'Or - Feline Groovy will probably be favourite and won't need to be Enable to win, but Angelina D'Or has some good form at this trip and should go well for Johnston and Norton.

7.40 Sound Advice - won four times round here and there should be enough pace on to negate a wide draw in a race that has been won from stalls 10 & 11 in the last four years.

8.15 Gabrial's Centurion - decent form, course experience, ground and trip to suit, good claimer taking five pounds off.

8.50 Harry Beau - up in the weights but he's a consistent, tough front runner who's well drawn and his jockey knows his way round here.  Intransigent could be worth a small punt at a big price - he's knocking on a bit now and hasn't won on turf for yonks, but he's tumbled down the weights, he goes well at Chester and his yard is in decent form.
