anewman Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 For Big Sam He got this journey underway with a winning start to qualifying after the disaster in france.
jimmyjoojar Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 (edited) Fuck the fat headed idiot, he's only a victim of his own big mouth and his willingness to self publicise. England are better off without him in my opinion. As much as i loved the guy during his time with us, i think he would of inhibited the growth we've seen of this new England team. Winchester White Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I bet he is crying into his pint of wine wondering what could have been.
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I'm sure he'll be as pleased as the rest of us. Other than that; not arsed.
Zico Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Without fat sam and his pints of wine, this may never have happened Thank you Sam, your greed and ego have taken the England further than it could've imagined
madthatter Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Without fat sam and his pints of wine, this may never have happened Thank you Sam, your greed and ego have taken the England further than it could've imagined That made me giggle Was thinking about this the other day - Had things panned out the way they have with the draw he could well have got us here; but I think after his reign, however successful, or not, we'd not have moved on. Maybe I do him a disservice but I doubt it. I feel GS and the FA's longer term plan is coming to the fore and it really has been a blessing in disguise.
L/H White Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 (edited) only about 3 of the first team would have started under big sam 4-4-2 with andy carrol up top Edited July 11, 2018 by L/H White
DazBob Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 After hearing him say we should go 4-4-2 against Sweden I decided I'm glad he's not England manager.
leigh white Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 It would have been Rooney and Crouch in the team.
Guest Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I'm sure he'll be as pleased as the rest of us. Other than that; not arsed. You don't know him very well then!
Sweep Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I bet he is crying into his pint of wine wondering what could have been. I'll be he is a bit annoyed, although I'm not sure we'd be in the position we are now.......he would probably still be picking Rooney Many laughed when Southgate was appointed, but he's got us playing in a way that's good to watch and seems to have the respect and buy in from the players. I
Dr Faustus Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I felt for him when it happened, and I was generally underwhelmed with England up until the recent friendlies But then something clicked The team played with pace and passion, they were a unit; greater than the sum of their parts, and no ego's in tow. Released from the weight of expectation, the England of old was here... So fuck him
Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 You don't know him very well then! Do you? Are you saying he's not an England fan and would not approve of the success? His personal disappointment /regret is his to deal with, but doesnt mean he can't approve.
Youri McAnespie Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I bet he is crying into his pint of wine wondering what could have been. Without fat sam and his pints of wine, this may never have happened Thank you Sam, your greed and ego have taken the England further than it could've imagined One may criticise FSA for plenty of things; arrogance, greed, leaving us in the lurch - you name it. But NEVER criticise the man for drinking pints of wine, never.
madthatter Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 only about 3 of the first team would have started under big sam 4-4-2 with andy carrol up top Some goon suggested they should have taken Crouch to me today . . .
madthatter Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 You don't know him very well then! Heard him on TS today and he seemed quite happy about where we were to be fair. I expect any success will be bittersweet for him though but he only has himself to blame really
gonzo Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 Rooney would’ve been sent off within ten minutes again Colombia. That’s if he wasn’t banned after being sent off against Panama. Or Tunisia.
freds dad Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I would have thought that Sam would be doing some TV work during the tournament.
stevieb Posted July 11, 2018 Posted July 11, 2018 I would have thought that Sam would be doing some TV work during the tournament. And risk every other question being about his own short tenure. Fuck that. TV wouldn't want it and I doubt he would.
