nottinghamtrotter
Meltdown on FB, BEN etc. Who cares - as long as they were the highest bidder....
deane koontz
I like it. It's an improvement on Reebok and the bloody Macron.
paulhanley
It reads like an excellent arrangement for both parties. The University of Bolton Stadium just sounds more like an athletics venue than a football ground. Nobody will overly care if the results are going well I guess. There's no obvious acronym that could be used to make the title more catchy. The UBolt Stadium makes it sound like it has a link with Usain Bolt. Maybe it'll just end up being shortened to "The Bolton Stadium".
Marc505
It's something local and tied to the community that people should be proud of, dunno why people are moaning. Up the TUBS!

As usual, the Twitterati are just in meltdown for a meltdowns sake.

Flannel Truscott
Works for me. Its not Reebok but its also not BetFred or some obscure irrelevant foreign brand. If they were the highest bidder it shows there wasn't many bidders.

Guest
For “highest bidder”, read “only bidder”? Bit tinpot and I’m not in favour of public money sponsoring a football club.
Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted August 1, 2018 Author Site Supporter Share Posted August 1, 2018 It’s more highest/only bidder which bothers me rather than the actual name. Shows we’re miles away from any serious investment.
Anderson
I like it, far better than cycling through no mark sports brands and betting companies for a new name every few years. That's tinpot. Stick with this, it'll find an acronym or shortened version that works (I like UBOS) and we'll all forget about it in a month anyway. jules_darby
Why can't we just come up with a proper name and stick with it for good. Burnden two Lofthouse park Pike view Etc We can when someone pays more for that than anyone does for the naming rights The moaning online about this is unreal In fact the whinging about anything recently is obscene I think I’m getting into Garrp territory of being put off going due to our high m0ng %
onlyoneawalker
Glad it’s local it’s a bit quirky and the logos shite but better than Betfred! I’m not sure Unis are funded publically much anymore so keep the bedsheets folded up and fair play to the Uni marketing themselves and pushing their sports led niche in a clever way
