Boby Brno Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Called in this afternoon after an early finish. Weather not great but still busy. Carrs black pudding sausage rolls are brilliant. Missed Brixton’s butter stall but I’ll be be back on Sunday. Quote
Sweep Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 (edited) Williams Butter (Brixton) are there. An ex-poster from here. Worth a visit Edited August 24, 2018 by Sweep Quote
Mike Hunt Posted August 24, 2018 Posted August 24, 2018 Bought enough butter to clog an artery today. Brixton was on a mission to the lock up for more supplies. Quote
Spider Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Brixton's Butter. The League of Gentlemen missed a trick there. Quote
MancWanderer Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Definitely picking up one of those Carrs black pudding sausage rolls on my way over today Quote
kent_white Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 Definitely picking up one of those Carrs black pudding sausage rolls on my way over today I tried one yesterday. I was a bit underwhelmed if I'm honest. Only had a nibble though - maybe I need to give it another go. Them steak ones are immense though! Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 It's on tomorrow isn't it? Should be quiet in the pissing rain, might pop down. Quote
Marc505 Posted August 25, 2018 Posted August 25, 2018 True Order were good wish they did a 2 hour set! Quote
bolton_blondie Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Are the bars under cover? Don’t fancy getting pissed wet through for an over priced pint of rain water Quote
Widnes Two Hats Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Are the bars under cover? Don’t fancy getting pissed wet through for an over priced pint of rain water Yes they are but they were heaving about an hour ago as it's pissing down Quote
MancWanderer Posted August 26, 2018 Posted August 26, 2018 Didn’t have time yesterday so drove back across today. Right shame that it was absolutely heaving it down. Seemed like a good set up all round. Had the Carrs festival sausage roll. Liked it a lot Quote
Widnes Two Hats Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 I had a black pudding sausage roll yesterday, I asked how much I owed them and they said it was free so thank you Carrs. Quote
victor meldrew Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 just got back. really good , pity about the weather. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 Should have gone yesterday. Not. Got back with a soggy ciabatta and generally pissed through. Was quiet though so got served dead quick. Bought a jar of scotch bonnet chutney/sauce type stuff that is actually not as bad as it sounds. Sweet and tasty! Always pay a visit to Shirley's pies too. Didn't realise they were at presall. Gonzo should be a regular visitor they're tremendous Quote

MancWanderer Posted August 27, 2018 Posted August 27, 2018 They are from near Strangeways - Bury New Road/Broughton area Gutted that I didn't see them at the festival. Know a few people who've been and they rave about them Quote

enzo gambaro Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Have they got a shop in town? That'll be getting a visit too if soThey’re there every year and there’s always at least a couple of dozen folk in the queue, so full marks for perseverance! There is a Taste of Greece in town and it is worth a visit, but they’re not the same people and the Bolton version might not stand up to comparison. Quote

It's OK for takeaway reminders of takeaway food on your jollies. Gyros, etc. Quote
