Site Supporter Biggish Dave Posted November 10, 2018 Site Supporter Share Posted November 10, 2018 That was woeful. We went through the motions for 75 minutes waiting for the ref to blow his final whistle. The lack of quality/confidence is shocking. We never built up a head of steam and never looked in danger of scoring. we set up with 7 defenders including keeper yet never look like keeping a clean sheet. I’m fuckin sick of it and simply not enjoying it at all. The whole place is flat. we are not staying up if we keep Parky. Might not if we sack him either but it’s worth a gamble. This is turgid

DomRepWanderer
I disagree that a change of manager won't change our fortunes, this squad is good enough for this league but not being set up right, there doesn't seem to be any semblance of organisation in the set up, there's strange decisions being made. Why for instance is Magennis taking throw ins when he should be getting on the end of them? bit like Kane taking corners for England. A change now gives the new man 2 weeks to sort out a system that WILL work with the squad we have, and just over a month to see where we need new players and identify required players, it's all too easy to say stick with Parkinson as he knows this squad, but he's not getting anywhere near the best out of what he has. Take Hunt Off
Hard to take given we had chances to score .Decent fifteen minutes when we actually played through the wee fella . Agree we lump it too much but is that due to bad tactics or inferior players did Swansea create any chances second half? Thought we deserved a point. For me, we haven’t evolved as a team, the players we have obviously have but the way he sets us up is in no way getting the best out of the better quality he signed in the summer last season he and the team performed a miracle really staying up but we haven’t got any better and our opposition have. With PP in charge where we are now will always be our ceiling as he hasn’t got any other way. Personnel may change, formation too but our conservative, cautious direct style never does. We need a drastic up turn in performances and results over a long period now and for me he isn’t the man to get it out of them
DaveTheRave
Not really impressed by any of ours apart from Ameobi. Relying on him banging one in from 30 yards isn't going to keep us up though. Time for a change.
dazl1212
The whole outcome just felt so inevitable. Swansea knock the ball about really nicely and seemed like the could step it up a gear if the needed to. Ameobi certainly made a difference, but ultimately it wasn't enough. CumbrianWhite
It’s a shame it’s come to this. Parkinson has done a fantastic job for the last couple of years but if he stays much longer, then that work will be forgotten. Our lack of a plan going forward is evident. We are devoid of any creativity and identity. We don’t counter attack, we don’t out pass teams, we have no clue what to do once the balls in the opposition half. Mounts Kipper
There’s no doubt Parky in last chance saloon and a lot of his decisions I’m finding difficulty in agreeing with for example giving Doidge 10 minutes today, but I’m hoping he gets up to the Wigan game and if after that game we’ve not picked up minimum of 5 points I’m afraid it’s time to call a halt on his time. jules_darby
Writing was on the wall early when Ameobi flicked it to Olkowski who played an absolutely brilliant cross in to no man’s land with loads of whip and Donaldson was nowhere near it; flat footed and not attacking the space. I’d say we possibly deserved a draw but not much more - they could’ve scored a few too. And they didn’t seem to have much quality either really. unless there’s a mentalist out there who fancies losing loads of £££ very, very quickly, our only chance of survival is if PP goes sooner rather than later yeah the players aren’t great, but he’s just not getting the most out of the group for me. And if we have a little bounce, it may just be our saving grace. If we can afford to sack him it’s time to be ruthless Edited November 10, 2018 by jules_darby

Guest
Looking at the next 6 fixtures, we could easily lose them all My view is that we are going down if we keep Parky. If we can't afford to replace him, we are, therefore, going down
MancWanderer
Couldn't make it today so can't comment on the game itself Pot Parky and install who as manager? Some of the names I've seen suggested are laughable. Tired old has-beens like McCarthy We are in serious shit but I've no idea what the answer is other than a Saudi billionaire. SatanGreavsie
Th'East Midlands Whites are just back, and are drinking heavily. Odd thing today - not only did we have a Yank guy come up under the ESL before the game and ask if it was only booze not hot drinks banned from the seats , but also the three lads sat behind us were all French. Wonder if it's some deal with the Uni? Or summat. Either way, I doubt they'll be back
radcliffe white
Do we need a name if it’s keep Parkinson all season Or say throw David Lee in I know what I’d choose its stale he’s not a championship manager and gates are dropping

Averaged 3 shots on target in each of those 4 games too its ok PP coming out and saying ultimately it’s about sticking the ball in the back of the net but he’s either overlooking or refuses to acknowledge that the lack of efforts on goal is the issue. We always concede so need to finish 2 of the 3 shots we have. I can’t personally remember many being guilt edged chances we should’ve buried either whichever way you look at it all roads lead back to him and his tactics. Why is McCarthy laughable? His record pisses all over PPs all day long, even at Ipswich Laughable is sticking with PP because you think there's no one who could do a better job then what we're currently seeing

All he had to do was steer it on target and it was in. Keeper was virtually on the other side of the goal and he can’t have been more than 6 yards out. Can only assume he didn’t realise how much time he had to pick his spot and snatched at it a bit. It’s not Parky missing those chances, and I’m not convinced he’s instructing Beevers to lump it forward although admittedly that was far less frequent than usual. That said, he can only be judged on the results and put simply our scoring record is absolutely pathetic. Scary how much we relied on just getting the ball to Ameobi and hoping for the best, but at least lumping it forward only becomes Plan B at that point.
