Wireless devices

it's the opposite with me, i've even bought the opposite of powerline plugs (lan-to-wifi ones) like this - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00NIUHA84 , so that i can have 'wireless' devices that were originally wired only to get through walls and other stuff in the way.

LAN cabling everywhere , just to see them change it to faster speed wires (i remember the cat5 10mbs , to cat7 10gbs Specs being a big jump speed wise), Pain in the arse swapping all that over.

at least if its wireless , you just swap out a box/adapter/device or whatever for a newer faster one.

dunno how a wireless printer works (its probably magic) , but printing docs from yr phone is like Star Trek or summat.

Ah, gotcha.

I have my cabling going through the crawlspace below the house, so I don't have any wires running everywhere, just behind the TVs (which I hide in channeling). Considering most of the network traffic is streaming video, I'm not too concerned about upgrading the wiring when new speeds come out, just the small stretch from my router to my computers - online gaming can be a real drag with wifi interference and dropped packets.

A wireless printer is magical though, I'll agree with you there.

the fireplace is the worst part to get round if you want most of it wired .

can't imagine a marble fireplace looking great with trunking glued to it.

either powerline plugs or wifi to lan plugs would have to be used for that part, imo. under the floorboards to get around it seems like too much messing .. kind of defeats the point of a wired network , but easier to do.

Ive stuck one of the sky boosters halfway between the router and the problem tv

Seems steady at 12

Just daren't close the doors

is the back of your router like

content_small_hub.jpg

note the blue power socket being a 'figure8' cable one..

compare the gun barrel circle looking one on this this photo ?

i had some connection probs on mine (everything else ok , but the sky box's connection to the router were terrible) , when they sent me a new router , the only difference were the power socket on the new router were like the second gun barrel style one.. there mightve been less breather holes on the routers lid too..

i assumed it were due to electrical interference and that on the router the power supply is now outside the new router.. (as a 'wall wart' )

might not be the same problem as you , but might be worth noting .. they mustve changed the design for a reason..

Son and daughter have bought me a Samsung Galaxy LTE Watch for Christmas. Just setting it up now and it seems you can't have the 4G connectivity on Three Network. Only Vodafone and EE networks support it. (Daughter had called in Three shop to make sure there were no extra charges while using the watch, to which they said there wasn't.

Anyone know how likely it'll be that Three get the 4G connectivity.

When the watches first started coming out Three said they were keeping an eye on things and that was a good few years ago. Bloke who used to work with me had one but I'm not sure if he just used it via bluetooth and wifi which does cost nowt extra, sure if you use the LTE to have it as a standalone then you need an extra plan.

this contradicts that- http://www.store-3.co.uk/3-mobile-4g-network.html

but the apple watch page also misses off three-

https://www.apple.com/uk/watch/cellular/

wonder whats up ?

heres kind of an explanation , with the esim/samenumber technical points, but its from a while ago- https://www.macworld.co.uk/news/apple/when-will-apple-watch-3-lte-come-three-3664187/ , and might not be relevant.

but they used to sell a samsung watch at some point - http://www.three.co.uk/Support/Devices/Phones/Samsung/Galaxy_Gear

must be a technical support contract or licensing reason , maybe these watches arent as "Use whatever you want" as phones are yet- https://www.samsung.com/uk/wearables/galaxy-watch/ mentions the networks it works on and three is missing.

doesnt help much , but you might just have to wait.
