Take Over

I would have thought that was blindingly obvious to everyone - clearly not by Road Runner's reaction and your question?

It's because James and EDT have been putting in the hard hours and millions of pounds trying to save BWFC from oblivion and the thanklessness and total lack of respect they get for doing so by a few self obsessed ultra fans is proclaim at public meetings that they are doing fuck all about saving the club and now wanting them cast aside for someone who hasn't even stated he's at all interested in the club and is only linked to it by esteemed journalist such as Alan (Bassini has bought the club) Nixon and Marc (Anderson holds first claim on the hotel) Iles.

If I was James or EDT I'd seriously be wondering why I am even bothering to save the club at all for such supporters as these.

You're allowing previous arguments to seep into your interactions with others. Nowhere in that post was there a reference to, or criticism of, EDT or Michael James specifically. And as far as I'm aware, it wasn't the poster you quoted who made those comments iat public meetings. It was simply an expression of frustration at FV seemingly struggling to finance a takeover of the club and hotel and the damage the delays have been causing, particularly when it appears, on the face of it, that there is an interested party who might have the money to get a takeover completed if he had been afforded the opportunity.

As it happens, I doubt Fawaz Al-Hasawi would progress things as quickly as Nixon suggests (or at all), and I do still believe FV will become our new owners in the next few days one way or another, but by fuck I can understand the frustration. Particularly with the stakes so high.

And again, there was no criticism, either explicit or implied, of EDT or Michael James specifically in that post.

If we put a team out against Coventry and you can attend but choose not to, you really are pushing it if you claim to be a fan of bwfc

So all those season ticket holders who didn't turn up against boro are not fans of BWFC? Stop talking bollocks man

I think you know where you stand with me chief. In that I think your content is factual, unbiased and accurate but your delivery lacks incision and an appreciation that most folk dont do  finance for a living.

It's one o clock on a Sunday morning mate.

For all the Forest fans say about Fawaz, he kept the lights on and spent some money.

Whatever you think of him that would be progress from where we are now.

Venkys made massive mistakes at Rovers but I'd take them tomorrow as per posts above.

Don't mock your fellow supporters for caring mate, it's not a good look.

Thank you for your unwarranted critique of my writing style and your other observations about myself.

Fwiw I do try to explain financial things in a way that would be understandable to most people with some interest in what is happening in that respect and that's not easy to do in just a sentence or two.

Is it some sort of a problem as to when I post?  Am I not allowed to take the wife out on a Saturday night and have a quick catch up on here just before bed?

What's your excuse for posting even later than me?

I've answered above why I posted what I did.

I stand by what I've said.

Ok.

You're the one who clearly doesn't 'get' what they need to do and how they need to do it, in order to complete the sale and save the club!

Is that more to your liking?

They've been after the club since November and they are still no nearer. Its not has if they are new on the scene.

I would imagine the EFL will have a good angle on the takeover, they won't risk letting this go on much longer, they need league structures in place ie promoting Newport and Fylde to the upper leagues if we go pop, and they would need time to do so, so in fact I estimate that if a deal is not done by mid-week they may act and kick us out.

There's been no billionaires queueing up to buy us, so you're left with one side wanting to make the most out of the sale as possible and the other being strapped for cash.

There's no one else at the party or they would have bid for the club - Fawaz has loads of money apparently, where was he at the time the club was on offer?

This will go on until someone, probably the EFL, says right, times up, if it's not done now it is all off.

That means the end of the club.

Means also the hotel becoming less attractive to those who wanted the club with the hotel and not just the hotel on its own.

Means probably a lower sale price for the hotel.

Means less money for the creditors at the bottom of the food chain - potentially even Ken.

Can't see him wanting that and no doubt he's telling the hotel Administrator too who should be working for his creditors best interests.

So a no deal would lead to the extinction of BWFC and possibly a significant loss for KA.

That's why I believe a deal will be done even if that means waiting for the last possible second to do so.

At this stage they are likely to just run a 23 team league.

Boro and Coventry are 2 different scenarios

You either want a club or you don't

If you do, you turn up against coventry

This. Assuming we can of course. Amazing how our fans will point fingers at United fans or City fans for being glory hunting JCLs. Yet when put to the test don’t seem that interested in keeping BWFC alive. Amazing also how quality of football even comes into this conversation. The next season is not about football or results or players or managers but simply about having a club at the end of it.

Oh I know there’s a huge difference, my point was you can’t just give up and I honestly think most fans won’t, they’ll remember our last stay in this league and the days out and carry on supporting the club.  The good and the bad have to be witnessed, they make the future glory days that much better and satisfying, that’s what I was putting over.

There are plenty of Lads I used to go to the match with in the early 90's who have given up going. It's a shit situation. A lot of them stopped going even when we were still in the Premier League. It comes down to money for a lot of people, and like I say, they can watch it for nothing on the internet or even down the pub on a dodgy box. I live in Germany and watch the games on iFollow, and I have never seen such crap football as we had last season. Even years ago in the old third and fourth division it was nothing like as bad as it has been recently. I support the club as best I can from over here. I still buy BWFC stuff from the Store and I got my Grandson who is half German a BWFC Kit. I imagine I would still have a Season Ticket if I still lived in Bolton, but I can see why many have had enough, and the youngsters, they don't want to see us playing shit football against Rotherham or Oxford etc when they can see City banging in 5 goals against Arsenal or whoever just down the road.

That’s a fair summary.

I think the daily mail is totally shite, so I don’t read it. Not quite sure what he thinks going to achieve from his crusade.

It might be worth bearing in mind that others posts may be more emotional than  rational at these times though. Am I not allowed to take the wife out on a Saturday night and have a quick catch up on here just before bed?  Yes you can do whatever you like without explaining yourself to me. I'm a poster on a football forum not a representative of some kind of imagined authoritarian regime.

There's plenty of people with plenty of opinions who know sod all and understand even less. Some have been paid to report on BWFC for years and are still as close to clueless as makes no difference.

Lets wait for RRF's incision shall we. He's a qualified accountant and a qualified accountant ought to be capable of figuring most of it out and provide a coherent response.

Don't understand your line of questioning since nothing I have posted hints at me being a 'Ken has stolen all the money' type.

I did do the homework you set but unfortunately the dog ate it. Sorry Sir.

I must admit I've been in the "no season ticket till Parkys gone" camp for months, but i agree those concerns are irrelevant now. If it's £100 a ticket v Cov I'd happily pay it whoever is playing or managing.

I might not be back from holiday for the Coventry game but hopefully I'll have paid for my season ticket before it and if we've not got to that point I will have bought a single ticket if they are available.

I don't really buy into this idea of kids wanting to go to the Etihad rather than watching us, you take them early enough and regularly and they learn over time that by and large you take the experience as a whole and the result is meaningless but the belonging is the thing.

If a kid is only watching MOTD and they're not sharing summat with u then of course the odds are they'll go for glamour, we're the parents and it's down to us to make them fans surely?

My eldest daughter has been to the wanderers a handful of times and has talked about going to watch a few women's games but when ive mentioned BWFC ladies she's said they are wank and so i've not taken her to any ladies games.

Lost my point somewhere along the line cos of Sunday arvo cider, but basically we have to buy tickets if we can because otherwise we might end up decorating at weekends.
