DLH
Oh and some bloody brilliant reviews from England today... the Buttler one in particular.

Beeb reporting Morgan is just a spasm so fingers crossed its not too bad.... Roy tight hamstring, get him swinging at no.6 boundaries only. Wondered that when I saw him pull up and stretch. Give him a codeine, and let him rest. Be reet. (Morgan that is).
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 14, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted June 14, 2019 West Indies have been bog wank. Shit body language and now Chris Gayle fucking about. Crowd cheering at his antics, but it's a reflection of just how bad they've been.
maaarsh
Rest of the group stages are glorified friendlys now - 4 best teams already in the qualifying spots with a comfortable gap over the only teams who could conceivably catch them.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 14, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted June 14, 2019 This bad weather could still play a part. Need another couple of wins at the very least.
maaarsh
South Africa, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are either already out of it or clearly not good enough to trouble teams. That leaves WI and Pakistan to try and trouble the top 4, and they're both well on the back-foot now - frankly bad weather would only make it harder for them to catch up. By the time the group stages are done I'd be pretty surprised if there isn't at least a 3 point gap between 4th and 5th.

Important to battle for places? That said, Aussies are in a game today

And it would be good if we could beat other top teams and possibly even dump one out!

Hopefully weather holds for England tomorrow.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 18, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted June 18, 2019 A somewhat circumspect start from England this. Hope it picks up a bit. Bairstow particularly slow.
Site Supporter Latham8WFC Posted June 18, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted June 18, 2019 Morgan Seventeen 6's.....broken the ODI world record for any player. 148 off 73 balls. Four 4's and Seventeen 6's. 359-4 off 47 overs.......
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 18, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted June 18, 2019 Absolutely fucking incredible. The most savage example of 6 hitting I've ever seen. A great bit of captaincy. Came in with the obvious desire to move the scoring rate along. Hit it sweetly from the off- brilliant.

DLH
Proper captains knock that by Morgan. Granted only Afghanistan, but Rashid Khan is rated 3rd best ODI bowler in the world... figures of 9-0-110-0-12.22 today

Boby Brno
Great day and a brilliant knock by Morgan. Not sure whether witnessing the 200 by Cook in Melbourne or this by Morgan in Manchester is the best. On reflection, Test Cricket, against the Aussies always comes first. To see a world record today, that may last for many a year, is something to pass down the generations.
